I recall 7500rpm limiter last time i drove a 197, assume it was standard.
172 was 7250 as stock.
The shift light rpm is set in the engine ecu 7-7200rpm iirc. I had mine adjusted at Efi so it comes on at 6900rpm with the meg engine. First one he had ever done.
To throw another curveball in the...
Seen so many issues with aftermarket header tanks, for a lot of different cars. Im reluctant to use anything apart from oem renault these days. If you cant get new oem id prob get a half decent used oem one.
Good to catch up at CSF mate (y)
Ive always wanted LY so that swung the purchase a bit, and cheap. Mainly cheap:LOL:
Definitely too good to break but too uneconomical for anybody to repair if your not getting stuck in yourself.
Theres a bit of a budget on this one and i reckon i can get it...
Ive only ever resurfaced one renault solid flywheel as it looked like the clutch had been down to the rivets. Only other time ive seen them worn out is after a paddle clutch has been fitted.
Rest have always been OK especially on the lower powered engines.
Its pretty wild. Even harder to pedal, proper keeps you on your toes
Im glad it was quiet so i could get some seat time and figure out how to drive it without holding anybody up. High speed braking is a bit twitchy over a ton. Trail braking into tight corners is epic can rotate the back...
Cup rear shocks from memory are a little bit shorter than normal povo spec rear shocks. They keep lowering springs a bit tigher in place when jacked up.
Next year mate! I was talking too much instead of driving as usual:LOL:
The rubber pickup on the track was crazy. I thought a wheel had come loose due to vibration on certain parts of the circuit and limped in to check/find all were tight. After talking to a few people most were suffering with...
Great updates mate. Heatgun trick on the seatbelt stalks looks bang on, ill do that on mine.
Acf50 is recommended for the ceramic coating on the exhaust manifolds to protect the coating and aid cleaning. It burnishes into the finish, smokes like feck on fire up. Didnt realise it goes up:oops...
Epic day. Great to catch up with everybody and massive thanks to everybody who put the graft in behind the scenes to set this all up.
Anglesey is a great circuit i really enjoyed driving it, and was absolutely worth the 6 hour drive.
Both vans survived and didnt give any issues so id say 100%...
Was horrendous on 56. Waze directed me some dodgy back roads which were moving about 1mph. Need a knee replacement with the 4 paddle clutch in the Extra van!
Thats good. My speedo is gps so kept going off
Couple of small updates
Stereo had no surround around it and looked crap.
£5 trim to tidy it up.
The silver centre part of the dash still looks a bit shite. Might get a new one or paint it up at some point.
Coilpack studs and nuts fitted. Coil number 4 had no bolt in it initially suprised it...
Cheers mate appreciated, stainless will be spot on.
R26 lsd will make a massive difference. I remember the difference was insane when i changed the stock 225 box to r26 on the mrs ph1 225 back in the day. R26 front arb is worth fitting whilst subframe is off too.
That one above looks mega in white.
Mine is on b14s, still got rear adjusters in. Stock top mounts up front.
No idea on height, i raised one side on the front to level it, driver side iirc as when i got it it was a bit on the piss.
