So lets get the ball rolling.
We are going back, way back from when i was a member of the Renault Turbo Owners Club forum (Rtoc) which was mostly for R5gtt's, i believe a few of you were members back in the day. This is where i first read about this Trophy, around 2008-09 iirc, Steve used to...
I always wanted a mk4 escort van with rst conversion. Back in the day my mate had a diesel mk4 van and we used to all pile in the back and cruise about no f***s given  Astramax with c20let was good to but they are extinct
Rev counter is operated via canbus on these so id imagine it will work fine and read correct, but only downside would be 8k rpm on the cluster and only using 4k or so as diesel not capable of same rpm. In effect a bit like some of the clio2 diesels that have 7k on the cluster as share the petrol...
Ive got mk3 clio 200 clocks in mine. All mk3 clio clocks plug in and work, but if originally for a keyless car then reprogramming is needed so the clocks shut down properly on the normal key. The door open, temp gauge, mpg, warning lights etc all work spot on.
Mk2 meg clocks also plug in but...
CSF update 2022
Cleaned up and sat in the garage all week to stay clean. Pulled it out the garage ready to go and torrential rain started straight away so waste of time
Filled up with fuel and gear, uneventful ride down to pick the Trophy up en route via Leeds. Noted max 30mpg at steady...
Mark Bacon owns it, not sure if hes on here. Its epic, 172 lump on standalone/bodies, 192hp, quaife atb, pms shifter, loads of trick bits. Hes on instagram Renault_5_sleeper
The roll correction kit makes a massive difference. The trophy feels the same on the Northloop kit, absolutely planted and solid compared to stock setup. I wanted a run out in yours as passenger but time just flew by, next time (y)
Currently 270ish hp @ 8psi wastegate prsssure. On high boost its 349hp @ 14psi, had to stop at that as issues with the fuel system so need to fix and revisit. 28psi should see some good hp mid to high 400s.
Wanted to see if the kangoo could keep with it on way back from csf. Shez said no and...
To update - We have purchased number 54 off Steve H back in December 2020.
After several months of rebuilding and furthur modifications its now road legal again and a few of you might have seen it at CS Festival yesterday.
Sneak preview, have approx 200 hours of updates to come in due course...
Clip is still the boyo on original management. Have been using RsTuner quite a bit lately too and its quite user friendly, just cost of modules is the downside.
If your good with french Ren0link is great, and cheap. Works on modern windows software too.
Kangoo is super clean and ready for takeoff. As predicted its pissing down so prob waste of time cleaning
Looking forward to catching up with everybody tomorrow
Old vs new and aftermarket vs oem which is probably making them look different. Could try machine polishing the original to make it pop, or replace that so you have a matching pair.
That is a strange one. Spacer behind bearing should not make a difference as the pad thickness sits the caliper in place parallel to the disc.
Have the wheels definitely been used on a clio before? If yes, at a wild guess the rear pads were quite worn so caliper was closer to the disc giving...
Cheers mate. Collar me on the day so i dont forget 😘
Cheers mate, its slowly getting there. Got a few more bits planned but can wait for now until winter.
Cheers mate. Adey's twingo is class, i cant wait to see what it goes like. It was a riot when i took it out at the last CS festival with...
Fitted a nimbus heatshield to the upper scuttle yesterday. It had a crappy bit of carpet sound deadening fitted originally which was looking ropey so took it off when i first done the conversion. Thought it was worthwhile fitting something right above the turbo to reflect some radiant heat...
