Team dynamics 1.2s rubbing on rear brake pads...

I'm after some advice
I have just got the rear end of my 182 cup back together and fitted some PBS pads and a set of team dynamics 1.2s

Now here is the problem the pads are rubbing on the hub face of the wheels....

The wheels have a offset of 45 (which is same as stock?) And they came off a 182 in the first place so I'm a bit confused. Has anyone came across this before? I have attached some pictures

I've never seen that.

Any pics looking from the back of the caliper?

It's a odd one isn't it?

Could it be the spacer behind the disc?

That is a strange one. Spacer behind bearing should not make a difference as the pad thickness sits the caliper in place parallel to the disc.

Have the wheels definitely been used on a clio before? If yes, at a wild guess the rear pads were quite worn so caliper was closer to the disc giving more clearance and it could possibly work.

Ive had this issue on R5gtts before, got round it with 5mm spacer, or machining a chamfer on the centre of the wheel.

@Tusk19 Hi bud, I've had this. On one set of TDs I've got a nice 5mm chamfer and then I got a second set brand new from demon tweaks and slapped them on and drove off and thought WTF is that noise. If it wasn't for having 2 sets I wouldn't have seen what the issue is.

Don't know why some TDs come with a chamfer and some don't. It's easy for a machine shop or wheel specialist to add said chamfer but because I'm a cheap bugger I opted to add a small chamfer onto the brake pads to clear the wheel.

Router and 45deg chamfer cutter with bearing if you want the diy approach, if your steady will be a good finish.

With the 4th pic on the original post that's why I simply took a small edge off of the backing of the brake pad. You only need a small amount of clearance. That's what I did with a file and haven't had any issues since.

100% wheel issue. If I get chance over the weekend I’ll get the rears off and get the other set of wheels out and show the difference. It’s obvious when side by side but the easy thing to do is just put a lip on the back of the pad that’s touching the wheel, only has to be a small lip, it doesn’t take much to get clearance

Just want to say that's for all the help!

All spinning freely now after shaving some of the brake pad (for now) 👍
