Take it to the Renault specialist and if the timing is out id be asking the garage who done the belt for the money back. Will be able to tell on live map sensor data on clip if timing is miles out, should be around 400mbar on idle iirc.
If they have not got much experience with the f4r they...
Some more jobs done to the Kangoo Compact.
Ive lost a few hours this week trying to sync the r26 ecu to the kangoo uch, initially without success and ecm immobiliser was active, resulting in short cranking and not able to delete dtc's from the ecu as immobiliser active.
Information on...
Thats a toy torque wrench. Definitely invest in a bigun that will go up to 300nm or so.
Failing that breaker bar, which did me proud on hub nuts for years, and is ok if you have a good feel for how tight things should be done. Got to be careful you dont go too tight though.
Buy one of these, come in handy for real stubborn trackrod ends or balljoints and quite kind on the rubber boot if you pull it down before knocking it in. Tighten it up, if it does not go straight away with a bang, hit the side of the hub and then it will go again with a bang. I have a genuine...
Updates
Both clios still soldiering on, blue one still clocking up loads of miles at work.
Changed oil and filters on the blue one a couple of months back and boshed an airfilter in, old airfilter was black.
Clutch started slipping shortly after on hard acceleration, so have limped it for 2...
Should be able to free the sliders off, very easy with an impact driver. I just done a set yesterday, spun them both ways until loose, removed, cleaned and greased and good as new.
Strange that it wont auto detect vin, try with ignition on. last time i installed clip im sure i just manually installed the drivers. Might need to be in administrator mode.
Drivers will work on 7. What issues are you having installing drivers? I recall plugging the cqn clip into the obd so it detected it, then installed drivers when the box pops up.
Cheers all. Getting there slowly
First time id seen 2x valves @frayz didnt realise it was for nitrogen, good info. I initially thought the wheel had been cocked up!
Good info @VenomUK Ive freed it off and well greased now. Possibly scuttle was blocked when previous owner had it. Will bleed...
A few more jobs done
Kangoo clutch pipe was knacker tight so ordered a hel 250 dampener delete pipe. Had to modify the kangoo bulkhead joiner to fit the 250 pipe. Filled reservior up and stuck a pipe/syringe on the bleed point on clutch slave, pulled a vac and it bled up straight away, so...
Done a bit more at the weekend. Mostly mocking up what will fit and finding out what needs modification.
Tried a few combinations of gear cables that i have in stock, no joy as all around 75-100mm too short. Custom length bowden push pull cables are not too expensive so should be easy to sort...
Prob be able to get a f4r in quite easy. Id bet its a cross between mk2 meg/twingo/mk3 clio, exactly the same as this Kangoo im building.
Looking at the subframe id be aiming at mk2 twingo for suspension, should be able to cross over clio rs mk2 parts.
From my findings most of the modern...
Weekend progress
Foggy on Sat which was not motivating me to do any outside work. So dtuck all the ancillaries back on the engine, mocked up wiring (ignore the incorrectly plugged in wiring as couldnt be arsed popping the bonnet on the 225 to find out what goes where  )
Filled it up...
At a guess caliper seal must be on its last legs.
Had similar issues with rear cylinders on drum abs setups. Pedal goes long yet firm, traced to a minor weep from the cylinder, not enough to see a drop of fluid on the deck but enough to give a shite pedal.
@Martin_172 epic, that looks perfect :love:I think i need to start looking for some megane bc coilovers asap;)
Done a little bit more today. Engine dynamics stg 2 turbo purchased this week (think its based on 20t) supposed to be good for 360hp. Fitted. Lifting eyes on, engine crane...
Updates from last week, a few more bits done
Home made 20mm throttle body adaptor to fit 225 throttle on 250 inlet. Bit pikey but should work ok
Drilled and tapped throttle body to get rid of the crap push fit pipe
Sealed with loctite on the threads and copper washer
Give it a quick tart up...
