It will be related to the engine bay fusebox if the electrical fault light is on the dash. Check the small relay pins for corrosion, and check the fuse for the ecu. My fusebox melted on the ecu fuse due to poor connection causing a non start.
Done a couple of small jobs.
Removed fuel pressure gauge from the reg, and blanked the hole now the fuel pressure is set, as they are not supposed to be permanent. The original gauge that was fitted started leaking, not taking any risks. Cant see it from the drivers seat either so pretty...
It sounds like the battery has died. Had similar issue on the mrs blue meg, sat on trickle all winter, started twice when we got it out the garage and flat.
I would keep the door sensors& boot lock if you are keeping the central locking. If they are not working/wired up, its easy to lock the keys in if your not careful.
Small update
Had the rear window tinted dark smoke to keep eyes off my gear when i eventually go back to work. Looks dark in the pic bit looks oem ish tint when up close and can see out of the back ok.
Finally had to put some diesel in too after god knows how many weeks
The injectors are fragile if original. I knocked one of mine when changing the oil filter and the plastic connector part simply fell off as brittle and old.
Probably thrashed from new and the rings bedded in really well;)
I would bosh a new set of injectors in at 130k. I replaced all of mine after one failed and it ran great after, miles better than with the old injectors.
Compression is within 10% by the sounds of it so not an issue, its decent overall and generally you would need a big drop in compression on a cylinder to get it to misfire.
If the timing is correct, id say its injector fault or ign related, resistance check the injectors.
Next step for me...
Another vote for fresh cup shocks, and eibach sportlines if only fast road use. Accept a little bit of bodyroll and it all works lovely, and will generally outlast any coilover setup with very little maintenance.
Could sell the coilovers and get a good return.
Checked the boost circuit for leaks this morning. Dug out my home made caps for the circuit and used a small compressor for an airbrush.
I would normally bung the airfilter and fill from the airfilter hose with a good compressor. However this compressor does not have much power so initially...
Trader saying service history lost = no history.
Fsh and previous lease car = no servicing.
Always buy on condition, and unless the seller is very trustworthy, consider belts as needing changing.
Cheers mate, Its been my passion fixing these Renaults for years and the lockdown has given me tons of time to get the bits done.
The various internet forums i have been members of over the years have given me so much knowledge to fix various bits, would have struggled without the good advice...
With the vibration issues i had totally fallen out of love with this, but now its right i love it again. Proper hot hatch, grip is so good on the ps4s. Might offer the mrs a swap for the gtt again:LOL:
Updates.
New o/s shaft in the 250 did not fix the wide open throttle vibration so had to do more diagnostics.
To recall the whole saga, car was perfect on stock suspension, low mileage 34k when lowered on bc's due to stock shocker failing. 2x new oem driveshafts fitted, spacer fitted to n/s...
Cheers mate. It seems to be good to go for mapping, cant wait to hear it make some decent boost, this slow driving is doing my nut haha.
I have no idea what that thing actually is, its some modern art shite next to M/boro riverside stadium. Another waste of tax payers money:sneaky:
Running in miles going well, 280 or so miles covered now. Ive been to outstanding places of local beauty last 2 nights in the North Yorkshire moores for exercise ;) (y)
In preperation for mapping i fitted the vxr blue 470cc injectors, recalibrated fuel table to suit and changed the oil and...
Give the seats a wet vac the other day as they were pretty discusting, done carpets and doorcards too. Came up quite nice, seats look blue again instead of brown
Taking ages to dry out as expected
Give the 250 a clean up today too. New shaft has not sorted the slight vibration issue in higher gears, which was a bit of a kick in the bollox. Going to get it up in the air, and check everything this week.
Still looks pretty though
Thanks for reading !
Not much to report, Extra van running in is going well though around 170miles done now.
Done quite a few basic adjustments to the ecu map, ign and fuelling, drives really well considering. Still not boosted it properly yet, but some footage on the way to Lidl last week
Had to tame the pops...
I done a bit of searching and everybody has a different idea of whats right and wrong, apparently its ok to paint straight over.
Id personally give it a light coat of electrox over the hydrate 80. Ive just done my jacking points on my orange clio dci, i give the hydrate 80 a good coat of...
First hot hatch and first car, Nova 1.3sr C reg back in 1998. No pics, had period alpine headunit with 6 disc changer, alpine sub and amp, lowered on jamex springs, astra gte mk2 alloys & peco big bore backbox. Fond memories of fixing it, and taking it for mot which resulted in a hole in the...
