Yesterdays job, change the o/s driveshaft on the 250. Inner joint was worn/dry and causing some vibration when pressing on. Ordered the shaft from autodoc, £140 for SNR/NTN which looks to be oem without the price tag.
Hate working on the meg3 suspension, but all went smoothly and done in a...
Megane 3 parts will probably fit too as very similar platform, clio 197 bits should go no bother too. I cant believe how rotten the shock was, rest of the van is mint really o_O
You will need the full 225 hub and wishbone setup to run the shocks and different length driveshafts If staying...
Updates
Cured the lazy start issue. Fitted the megane battery on, which improved things a bit. Fitted some beefy 35mm2 earths from engine block and it cranks over mega fast now, so a combination of both poor batt and poor earth:cautious:
Been chasing minor coolant leaks as a few joints are...
Cheers mate. My jaw still clicks from that era of hardcore and all nighters
Haha epic aint it. Should have had sunglasses on and kept away from the camera:LOL:o_O
Both sides of the front suspension are done and its rocking an old set of ph1 225 alloys whilst stood.
Found this beauty when stripping the drivers side front suspension down, daylight half way round where the spring cup joins the strut body. So close to failing, only 9 year old and still...
My old Kangoo used to have something totally different for the vin 1.2 clio or whatever. It appears to be stored in the airbag ecu as thats the only module i did not change.
Makes no difference to running whatsoever or any functions. Just looks a bit strange when scanned with clip.
At a guess...
Knock at the door earlier and the H&R springs arrived from Germany in a week, miles faster than most Royal Mail parcels!
Started pulling it to bits
Fitted on fresh R26 shocks
Wishbones and hubs on
Brembos on, flexi hoses fitted and brembo hc 312mm discs fitted. Discs have had a sacrificial...
Update
Bought a rear seat delete carpet off ebay £35. Turned up today and fits well, quite impressed.
Work gear back in ready for when i eventually go back.
Just the rear window to tint now, thinking light smoke to stop people glaring in when on site.
Thanks for reading!
Cheers mate. Ive done a ton of engine conversions im my mis spent youth haha. My first ever engine conversion was back in 2000, converted my old astra mk2 from small block 1.4 to 1.8 8v gte on carbs. Broke stuff and learned the hard way in my youth, but its all good fun.
I keep changing my mind...
Pandemic update
Bored yesterday so pulled the knackered diesel out. Started by removing the front end and remaining ancillaries, not much to take off as head was off.
I had planned on selling the gearbox, drained the oil and it came out like bum wee, out for the scrapman
Could not be arsed...
It all kind of got out of hand but its been a great way to kill time in this pandemic
Reserve light came on yesterday. Roughly 7 weeks to the gallon. Not put any fuel in since last time i was at work!
Needs lows but need it to be useable for daily
Great turnaround.
Some crazy bodges from the previous owner, i swear its more work to bodge it than fix it properly. My old Kangoo 172 was the same when i bought it, wires twisted together, seatbelt bracket held in by an m6 bolt etc. I practically rebuilt the van as i had to go through all of...
I found the 180 NS2R terrible on the megane. Could not get enough heat into them on road use/cold weather use, car felt so skitty. They go off fast on track when hot, and i managed to split a sidewall on one of them. Cheap tyres and poor performance to suit, i had more sideways moments with...
To add to insult, i nearly took my finger end off removing a regulator from a breaker. Absolutely hated the car after that episode and didnt touch it for about 6 months, but slowly grown to like it again
I double clicked the button on the blue meg to deadlock on the first time the car had been out the garage overnight in 6 months. Drivers window went down for no reason and stuck there as temec module failed. It then started raining and ended up stripping the doorcard off in the dark to get the...
Looks great, always liked the ph1 in sunflower yellow.
Teesport is about 5 miles away from me, a few of my mates around that time used to move the cars. Flat out straight off the boat, well run in before they hit the showroom. The gaffer used to get the good cars to drive i think he said the...
Pulled the cars out for a clean yesterday.
225 done first, BH auto foam, 2 bucket wash, dried and a coat of Sonax bsd. Cant wait to use this once lockdown is over.
Next up the gtt, got the same treatment as the meg.
Dug out a tape pack to stick on whilst cleaning
The eyes on the box:LOL: if you...
