After seeing several threads over time asking the same questions:-
1) What is the insurance going to be like on [car]
2) What is the tax on [car]
May I offer a simple way of finding all of this out.
1) Open up an "account" (register your details with) with any of teh usual price comparison...
Fair do's, if you're mechanically mindede and want the challenge of it.
I wouldn't, but then I've no mech skills.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure a Smartuki would nail you as you pull away in 1st gear, and that's only got about 140hp ;)
No hassles.
First car I presume?
If so, just avoid getting sucked into wanting a "well sik" motor, as you'll only end up poor. I'd suggest a car that's pittence to run, already has alloys (and air con), then keep it as is for a few years, until companies feel they can "trust" you to have a car...
As Adam says.
Just get your details into Confused.com (or similar)
Then you can just put reg. numbes in when you find a motor you like and get a decent ball-park guesstimate. Certainly better than what this place will.
Just remember to add / remove mods as and when they are on the car...
For a more accurate answer, stick your details into Confused.com or similar.
You can get a few quid off if you go direct to the best provider shown.
Also, Autotrader.co.uk ads usually list the Insurance Groups, along with performance, emmissions and economy figures.
EDIT: Ads would need to be...
AAARRRGGHHH!!!
MY EYEEEEES!!!!!
Fast Car can't go bust quick enough.
Sorry fella, your car and everything, you realise you'll struggle to ever sell it though
If it's competitive track time, then it wouldn't see the road.
If it's just track days, then surely the majority of its time is on the road, so why make it look like a track refugee?
May as well slap roundels and sponsor livery on it too..... Monster Energy stickers?
Anything that you would need to explain why it looks "good" is a bad mod/theme
FOr road cars, this includes having roll cages, fixed buckets and multi-strap harnesses.
They'll be all the rage when mk.3 TCE's are cheap enough to fall into hav hands, then Mk.3 renaultsport parts will be traded on here endlessly as people make a 200 "replica".
the image is the future
Any mod that involves taking the Manufacturers' service guide and sticking to it religiously gets my vote.
I know that, with those stripez, I can't pull a moral high-ground
It's a pig.
But, then, when the MK.3 first arrived, it wasn't a looker... same as when BMw decided to melt their clay models a bit and think "that looks alright, it'll do).
It'll be a grower. It'll then peak just in time for a facelift, where they decide to make it look utterly waff.
