"I want to lower it, but am unsure if i can do it on the standard shocks/springs? and also, how much should i lower it by?, looking at the arches its pretty high, but looking at the bottom of the front bumper, its pretty low."
Why bother? You cant afford to insure 'your mums' car, throwing...
Jason, check the spec/prices between the Bora and these....

if it involves spending money on a rover, it should be to trade it in.
I ditched my Zr 160 after 6 months, just because i woke up and realised they're really pikey
save your funds geez! In a few years you'll be insurable on something with pep.
You can then spend your saved pennies on something out-of-the-factory quick and still have a car to sell on that people wont steer completely clear of!
Not the red-marked ones no. there's a bolt-head on the very right of the block, which seems to be holding the guard on?
Like I said, there's a bolt missing from the engine cover, wondered if it was the same one.
not on cool-down, no. It just started for no reason and is unaffected by engine or road speed, so I'm guessing it's the fan. Mind, there's always a new faint rattle to lisen for in my little Clio... Mind it is 7 years old, what should you expect!
as for pics, if I wasn't away from home, I'd...
thanks gents, useful as ever.
so it looks like I need to get the sockets out
as well as this, the nt under the drivers' door holding the front wing in place has come adrift, making it look like I've got some mildly (and craply) flared arches
any advice on a ticking fan btw?
I can't upload to the forum! Grrrrrr.
going on the photo uploaded (thanks _WILL_) I'd say its the fuel rail guard.
does the far-right bolt also hold the engine cover in place? because that'll be he bolt that's missing and explain the problem
Help!
When trying to find the reason behind a random rattle that's appeared under the bonnet (seems to not be speed related, so I'm guessing the fan?) I found that some big chunk of metal is rather loose.
it looks like a heat-sink or something, it's held onto the front of the block, lower...
I thought there were seperate tweet & mid wirings, and I'm guessing there's not enough room to hide x-overs up inside the dash, since everyone seems to put theirs in the doors or under the seats?
Right.
I'm a novice with, well, anything to do with maintenance and junk. Trying to work out if it's worth doing speaker upgrades or not.
I was originally thinking of doing amps, components, the works, but that looks like a vast amount of work that I'm really not liking the look of.
for...
isn't it just their car-kit made in DIN size? I use the car kit and it does like to crash a lot. it uses its own amp which is about as powerful as the cabasse (?), connects to anything somehow and has a decent remote.
but, yes, you cant rely on it not crashing itself and your ipod
I got my PS3 to pick up the Vista laptop I use when I installed Squuezeserver (for my squeezebox), but then that stopped when I changed router.
But with the Windees 7 lappy, yeah, PS3 picks it up whenever it's on, no hassle
maybe, like Abarth, the Gordini name needs to be dragged through the mud with a load of wheel 'n' sticker "specials" before it gets a product worth talking about.
Fiat Stilo Abarth anybody?
"summer tyres"?
I used to run Goodyear Eagles all year round on an MX-5 and never had an issue.
Unless you've got some cut-slicks on, all tyres should be able to work in the cold, it's just standing water and snow that'll screw it.
As for cold tyres, take note of the F1 boys. Find...
They wont have a problem taking your money, it's when you ask them to pay out that you could have an issue.
well, that's what I've heard, I wasn't allowed on parental insurance, hence the 1800 quid for a £5k corsa shopping. Set me up well though
