Comparing my old Clio to my current one....

I've never driven a Mk1 before but the comparisons you make all sound about about right to me. Good write up:)

    04 plate 172's

Cheers lol. I didn't get the CD changer either which is a bugger because I would kill to plug an MP3 player into the standard head unit:(

    Do you reccommend a 1*2

You can't just put that down to to "problems". The CTR cost more to buy in the first place because its a bigger class of car.

WHATS THE BEST FILTER OUT THERE?

You can just pull the pipe off the right hand side of the air box if you want a nice sound;) and I haven't noticed any decrease in performance what so ever with that method.

    04 plate 172's

Mines a 53 and just has the ESP. Saw a couple of other 53 platers with cruise when I was looking though.

    Do you reccommend a 1*2

I would recommend them. For the money they cost not much comes close. They are quick, handle very well, look good (yet understated), have all the mod cons you need, safe and (although not the main reason to buy one) very good on fuel. I don't think so far (touch wood) they cost to much to...

    MPG 182

Either you drive like a complete tit everywhere you go or you need to take it back to who ever mapped it and get them to fix it lol.

    Cambelt And What Else?

On the advice of others on here and my mechanic (after he had checked it) I didn't bother changing the pump when I got mine done.

    knocking on hard acceleration

I've resorted to turning mine off in the wet now when I know I will have to give it some to get in a gap at the junctions..... It would be interesting to hear what others are like or what they're like from out side the car.

    Putting your foot down...

I bet the excess that some of these young drivers would have to pay must be laughable tbh.

    02 reg Clio 172 vs. 53 reg Clio 172 ...

Maybe the old one had the accustic valve removed or air feed disconected from the side of the air box? Might explain the lack of noise.

    Cambelt and Auxbelt change

Well it is true:D I got mine done just the other week. Based in Huddersfield so not to far and he is a cambelt specialist too. With new spark plugs, oil and everything for the 5 year service you will be looking at about £400 all in (as Dan says). PM me if interested.

    Cambelt and Auxbelt Advice...

Not worth the risk imo, just get it done on time then you don't have to worry about it anymore. Thats what I've just done.
