Hey Luke, no worries mate.. My numbers the same, but pm me if you need it again. Belts are no prob.
Love the new car though, def a good choice.. My fiesta turbos a nightmare!!!
that was me! i saw your one, and half recognised you walking in to halfords.. didnt want you to have no idea who i was lol!
your car is lovely, had a nosey on the way out!
i dont like the front plate to be honest,, i didnt really anticipate it being THAT small when i ordered it.
but i've bought it now, lol. so it can stay for the time being..
love the car though, just needs more power
Gone and bought another one, this is my 4th one now.. still think the converted one i did was the best.. should never have sold it.. but this comes pretty close :D
Get it to a specialist.. It's an engine that requires fairly specific knowledge,, the engine does not have 'buckets' as such the valve clearances are set by hydraulic lash adjusters which as a rule don't go wrong. Without hearing it it could really be anything,, my bets would be on a...
No mate, I bought the ph1 purely to break for parts. Had that White 1.2 which I did the body conversion and then the engine conversion on. Sold that and now got a ph2 172.
Conversion is straight take off and bolt on!
Dan you want P clips for the wires if your after a professional look, which I'm guessing you are going by the roll cage padding not fitting, I'd be the same!
Spacers are a must I've done this conversion myself (albeit a ph2) and the wheels set in on the front a fair way. Was kind of handy as everybody still thought it was a 1.2! That's me on eBay by the way mate!
Pic of the one I did the same to, not my car anymore though!
There is a cheat to it, remove o/s engine mount, attach engine to brace, unbolt bell housing (everything still attached ) slide engine over then u can unbolt the clutch through the gap. 2 dabs of superglue on the clutch plate sorts out the lining it up problem. I've done them quite impressively...
That button bracket thing off tweaks, on the tvr sagaris it comes standard with a momo champion wheel, and that has one of those brackets but it's mounted behind the wheel so you can't see it at all. I'd look in to that!
As Fred says 6 hours book time (can be done much quicker, but that's almost besides the point here) a VERY cheap garage will be charging 30 pound an hour, plus a clutch, plus oil.. Plus vat, do the maths! 300 quid would be a cheap job!
Why not check it out and only change what's required? So many people change part after part based on suggestions when 20 odd quid and someone who knows there stuff could save you loads of money. Might be a handbrake cable seized and nobody's mentioned that.
few decent bits in here, few may be a niche market ;) but may be of some interest
thanks for looking!

i found some lower ball joints seperate from the arms through euro parts.. just the rods and ends left. mine arent fail worthy (im a tester myself) but the knock does my head in!!
