I dont know about that it def stiffens up the front end when cornering at speed.
I might go for a carbon fibre theme im thinking, engine cover, black samco hose, CF battery cover maybe????
It was really easy suprisingly!!! It was so easy I ended up doing two that day!!! haha
There is a guide on here somewhere which follows it to the tee!!!!
Its a standard H7 bulb, is the gas inside that burns that makes the difference. I had then on my old 1.2 and everybody said they looked good, really close to the real thing, only £12 i think too, or just go for a 6000kw xenon unit, they arnt too blue that they will get you a tug.
There is a place on the net call xenonshop.co.uk who do very good HID kits and the closest xenon looking H7 bulb iv ever come across for non xenon models.
Thanks guys
The wheels were done in a dark anthracite with gold calipers ( didnt want to go black ) yeah I done the engine cover myself, was really easy to do aswel, just plastikote primer and spray paint just make sure you sand it down well.
I decided over the last couple of weeks that I didnt want the in your face roar of an induction kit and wanted to fucus purely on performance, so with a remap coming up in the next few weeks I re-fitted the standard airbox but combined it with a pipercross panel filter.
While I was doing that...
Yeah i have emailed GAP security this morning to see what they would recommend!! The Toad alarm was one of the ones I was looking at, it doesnt have to be anything fancy with proximity sensors or engine start etc!!!
Yeah they nicked my Dad's Mini Cooper S 2 weeks ago by poping the front door and chiseling out the porch door lock then nicking his keys, they tried the same thing Wed night for mine but didnt make it through the new inner porch door.
Iv put a new high wattage (very bright) security light up...
I have 2 attempted break-ins to get hold of our car keys at home in the last couple of weeks so I want to get an upgraded alarm.
Any particular alarms that are worth looking at?
What you think and are they worth doing?
1. Remove powertec induction kit and re-fit standard air box with ITG panel filter.
2. Remove accoustic valve and run CAF into air box from lower grill (not fog light)
3. Decat if it turns up in time!!!
4. ECU reset
5. Big, clean and detail if the...
Iv got a powertec on my 172 and it does sound nice but not as much pick up before 5000 rpm compared to a decent panel filter so im going back to the standard airbox and ITG at the weekend!
What does everybody think works better, I have a full powertec induction kit with cone filter at the moment but im hearing a lot of people finding better gains out of the standard air box with the ITG panel filters and enlarged cold air feed tubing running into the original airbox??
I love the...
Does the cat stretch right up to exhaust manifold? I am assuming its simply a matter of unbolting the cat at both ends and inserting the decat, although the top end im expectiong to be a pain?
Has anybody on here had a go at fitting a decat on a MK2 172.
I know they are supposed to be a bit more tricky than on the 182s but is it something that I could do myself??
