My dad has had the engine stripped out of my bro's 65 and the turbo and pipes were totally caked with sh!t. the only way to really find this out is to strip them down! Just make sure it hasnt been driven like a granny all its life - this will cause the build up. I aim to give at least 2 full rev...

The normal service schedule is slightly shorter than petrols.
The water pumps can begin to weep after a while, for the sake of £40 or so its easier to replace it at the same time as the cambelt etc.
Out of those I would negotiate on price I.e £1950 or so... make sure its had the cambelt, water pump etc
Other than that, I would suggest finding one without a sunroof! lol Only because mine is driving me insane!

Once you clay it and remove all the contaminants the paint work will feel smooth like glass, then apply a decent wax (Ive got Auto glym HD wax, Dodo Juice and some plain carnauba wax) give it a few layers, that should last you a good few washes, provided your using a...
