I guess the the main concern is lag on a normal internet connection.
Anyone got experience with these?
Debating f**king off the landline broadband as we do well to get 10mb/s when it’s actually working well.
Mobile signal outside Is 30-40mb/s where as inside the best you can get is 2-7mb/s so need to boost the signal inside the house.
Bit early but getting this sorted now so I have them ready for winter as the office is in the Welsh hills so snow and ice are likely.
Ordered a spare set of 19” alloys for the beemer just wondering what tyres to wrap them in.
Recommendations since this is bmw.net after all?
Got the above on the beemer but it’s started to come off and makes it look a bit rubbish.
Looking around I can’t find any paint or anything so I’m assuming the best solution is either replace the tips.
Or polish them and try get a normal chromed appearance.
Anyone done something similar.
I’m forever going through drill bits even with ct-90.
Anyone recommend anything so far I’ve tried the cheapo screwfix/tool station offerings along with dewalt and Milwaukee.

Since my cars currently in pieces I’m aiming to get a full model of the engine done as “learning exercise”.
Figured there must be a few of you on here that can offer some pointers.
I’ve got a fair bit of spare time on my hands at the moment so I’m going to have a crack at teaching myself Python as a back up/future career option.
I already have experience writing scripts for 3ds Max in Python so I’ve...

Would anyone recommend anything else (£500 max)

I’ve been trying to repair the daily derv while we are stuck in lockdown and it’s got the weirdest fault.
It wouldn’t start initially so replaced the crankshaft sensor and now it will run.
but if you drive it over a bump or even close the bonnet with it running it cuts out.
I’ve wiggled every...
So garage got broken into via the side door which has two locks which they’ve crowbarred out wrecking the lock and the door.
They didn’t take anything despite several tools being easy to grab so we can only guess they where on foot and after bikes.
I’ve replaced one of the locks and put a...

Picked this up today for £400, 55k miles on the clock but it hasn’t moved in 5 years.
Started almost straight away on the key to my surprise, sounds like the water pumps knackered and the rear brakes are seized on so had to drag it back.
Plan is minimal mods but renewing everything so that...
Those of you with 4-5+ cars how are you dealing with insurance?
Especially for cars that are going to sit on the drive for a while getting repaired, don’t get much use etc.
Looking to get the internet extended into the detached garage at the back of my house roughly 20m away, I've got electric in there with its own fuseboard.
Any know if powerlines work across circuits and at that distance.

Not having much luck atm.
Clio 182 key in the ignition dash does nothing, the only sign of life is the led next to the gear stick is illuminated.
I’ve hooked it up with jump leads to no avail.
Swapped out a few fuses no visible signs of any damage.
Ideas?
1.9 dci engine.
Engine will start first time run for a few seconds then cuts out.
Eventually it will restart but needs turning over quite a few times to get going.
Also the ignition stays on even if you remove the key before it restarts which is weird.
I’ve checked the injectors and they seem...
Got a trafic van 1.9 diesel, I assume it’s a similar if not the same engine in most renaults
Recently when it’s cold if I brake at a junction it drops the revs to 0 and almost stalls.
Only happens when the brake pedal is pressed which is strange.
Any ideas?
Currently we have Geomagic Design X, but we are looking at getting either Solidworks, Inventor or Fusion 360.
The internet suggests Solidworks is the market leader but Inventor seems to be becoming very popular so looking at the most future proof option.
I know theres a few people using the...

I know this has been covered a lot, but I'm going round in circles. I figure it's worth asking before I book it into Birchdown.
Get the above lights only when the cars cold, if the cars warm they go out as normal. Brake switch seem to be working fine and the rings all look ok. My el cheapo obd...
