That's exactly what's happening , I've been striping the tape of the loom and checking wires for resistance and continuity but do far nothing , I didn't know about the coil packs also casing this will try swapping those too .

How many miles are on the engine ? From the little I know the the post cat lambda DOES effect the fuel trim and hence economy but I'm sure ill get corrected lol

What car is it I know on my clio you can get basic diagnostic info on dash by holding stalk while turning it on (sure if you check on site you'll be able to get full info sorry I can't remember exactly how to do it )

My 1.4 is the same I thought it might have the wrong plates in but to be honest done nothing and its lasted 80k now and not missed a beet . When it goes ill check the cable but I'd say if not broke don't fix lol

Cheers for the fast reply I have tried to go three the wiring but not got a diagram in the Haynes so was a bit tricky . There's a big white plug in there that to be honest looks ok but was thinking of cutting it out and soldering joints , any ideas if it will work or just P&a£sing in the wind ?
