Earlier this year I had my car damaged by a delinquent OAP driver, smashing my front wing on what was a tidy ph1. I have removed the damaged one and fitted a 2nd hand replacement this weekend.
I have this bit of plastic trim left over from behind the bumper /under tray and cannot see where it...
My searches don't seem to be giving me a steer on my problem. Since the car came out of its winter storage I have had an issue with non-cold starts. When I say non cold I mean it will start first thing in the morning but if I try to start again say 9 hours later after being parked in a multi...
I managed to get a Bremi coil pack from ECP and a cheapo set of leads from GSF and it’s now firing on all four cylinders. At some point I will refit the old coil to see if it was the leads. Ready for its first track day of the year now.
It’s seems not only is my Clio not working neither is my multi meter, just been out to test and it’s not even showing the main battery voltage. I had tested the injectors by cranking when out against card board. Got four dots.
I am getting a misfire, my car has been in the parked in the garage since last August. Have a track day on Tuesday so thought I better get it out to check it over and it's misfiring. I have checked the following:
No water in plug wells
Spark plugs are correct NGK R all appeared OK and less...
I have fitted sportlines with cup dampeners. Very happy with the improvements, much flatter on the track, far less body roll and subtle drop . Needed camber bolts and two wheel alignments to get it set up right.
I have recently added fitted eibach sportline coils with renault cup dampeners. After that I had a wheel alignment done and could only get +0.25 degrees of camber. Fitted Eibach camber bolts and the realignment got it to 1.3 max. It feels much better, improved self centreing , less vague and...
I have done some searches and can't get an answer. Does my ph1 have a pollen filter?
I am servicing it next weekend and have peered under the bulkhead plastic trim and can't see one. It has manual air con.
Thanks.
Went to start the Clio this morning and it would not start without the red button being pressed on the inertia switch. I am going to replace the switch. It would appear they are a generic part but can't find any listed on the usual parts websites. anyone else replaced theirs??
I fitted it today. Ordered from renault Wolverhampton £44 with next day. Fitting was straight forward once, exhaust was dropped down, two axle stands on the rear beam, rear wheel off gave better visibility but not necessary, centre heat shield off. the lefthand cable is slightly longer so the...
For the second time, go to use my Clio after being parked for a week and it won't start. Turns over, fuel pump primes etc. Pushed the fuel cut off switch and tried the ignition again and it started. I don't know if the car has been knocked twice(I doubt it), the switch is faulty or the bump...
I have managed to snap mine too, the drivers side cable. I have removed the old one, I assume I just thread the new one though the outer sheath from the middle of car back, reconnect the tip and clip into the drum arm? Any tips ??
My R888 have done just two track days and no longer look legal, I think wear rate is sensitive to ambient temperature and tyre pressures Bought a second set of wheels with winter tyres to use on the road, probably all year round as I save hard driving for the track. I do like the look of stock...
The discovery is a good budget tow car, can handle 3500 kg so a Clio is easy. It's huge boot can carry spare wheels, tools, even sleep in it. Plenty around, cheap and easy to work on. I have a 95 manual 3.9v8 one, decat exhaust sounds like a TVR!! I however tow mine with a 4.4 TDV8 Range Rover...
I am running Brembo HC and CL 5+ , KTR braided lines and standard rear with a brembo pad. Combined with R888 tyres the brake performance is impressive, I love late/out braking the bigger faster cars on the track. I swap the front pads out for Ferodo DS Performance pads for road use as CLs have...
I have a 996 turbo parked next to the Clio in the garage! Fantastic machine, I've maintained the full Porsche service history and its eye wateringly expensive. Bought it four years ago before the prices went up. Nudging £100k back in 2003, when a Carrera was c.£60k. The engine is derived from a...
Despite only fitting a new rear exhaust hanger less an 2k miles ago, the £9 one from eBay was split. No wonder it was noisy, was sitting on the alumium hanger and resonating through bodyshell. Fitted a new genuine renault one £14 from eBay. Much better now .
