1.5 DCI, when my right foot is to the floor the engine warning light comes on. It goes off again as soon as I stop accelerating hard. No loss of power, no other symptoms.
Any ideas?
Can anyone recommend a DIY code reader?
No Rich, I don't want road pricing as they would shaft us.
What I also don't want is to have to pay £400+ a year in car tax for a hobby, it is unreasonable.
Ditch the car tax, stick 2p or whatever necessary on petrol to cover the lost revenue. All nice and fair then.
£400+ road tax is...
So still no real incentive to get much under 120g/km then. This will have remained unchanged for 10 years by 2011.
Usual pseudo green nonsense.
Going to do wonders for the future classic car market. Who is going to want a big engined 2001 car for the odd sunday outing when you have to pay...
You have been charged 122 for labour, which is a mistake. Maybe the service counter person fancied you...
I wouldn't worry about it being stamped, just staple the receipt into the book.
Perhaps your inlet cam is not phasing.
With regard to the compression test, this is going to be a dead end. No garage is going to investigate it FOC, and for you to do it will cost ££.
Sure you'd be annoyed if it was a new engine that was just run in and it had a 15psi difference, but...
First and second service on any car these days is little more than an oil change.
1/2 hour labour, 5 litres of oil and a filter. A casual look at the brake pads, maybe an air filter. £130 pounds please.
It's going to be a similar price at Nissan and Renault.
Who in their right mind would paint their car green and yellow!
Of course it looks dated - that's fashion for you.
I wonder what will look best in 10 years time, ph1 or ph2?
I think all Ph1 have them.
RHS in front of rear wheel and in a bit. You can change it without jacking up the car and it is easy to spot. Round silver can, about 10cm in length.
Generic response from Goodyear:
"Thank you for your email,
I have attached a file on tyre wear ,
Our passenger tyres are warranted for 5 years from date of manufacture or date of purchase if proof can be shown. The warranty covers manufacturing and materials but not accidental damage...
Shocks are 2 years old and are fine.
I don't see how any suspension or brake problem could cause this as they are even patches only covering half of the tyre. Plus the last tyres did not do this!
Just went to rotate my tyres and noticed the rears have worn very strangely.
The outer half is OK, but the inner half has worn in stripes, so I now have a 20 sided tyre.
Anyone else seen this? Perhaps I should ask Goodyear.
They are the proper German ones, bought from mytyres.
Got it in one. Heavy clutch is number one on the dislike list.
She doesn't like "the way it is just stop and go" either, nor the overly sharp brakes. In fact she hates pretty much all of it.
She drives me home from the pub though, so she does need a car.
Chrono pack sounds good. With...
We both have cars at the moment, but should really consolidate, as she did less than 1000 miles last year.
We can't keep her car as it is too small, but she hates driving mine. Actually it's worse than that, she refuses to drive it!
Test drove a Swift Sport and a Cooper S earlier, and was...
