i paid 1200 inc vat for total rebuild with all new parts, clutch and driveshaft. I didn't know at the time you can get a new box for £400 from rebuilt I would say the price you have is about right

if your gearbox is on the way out it will affect the performance as well, i would place the blame on that. also williams is only quicker after 60mph

i think the rack is ok, just the pump, which is £200.00 + vat from renault ! also have a £200.00 gerbox problem so trying to reduce my pain!

mounts are ok, dogbone replaced 8 months ago with genuine renault item. maybe have a look at the main mounts i suppose its an idea, going to a gearbox specialist today see what they say, well a worrying problem as not a cheap one a?

my valver has started to slip out of 5th at around 4500rpm did it once on the way back from blackpool a about a month ago then when on way back from stoke i stopped and there was a lot of smoke coming out from what seemed to be the cat/manifold today on way back from essex it slipped out...
