Have you paid your bill yet? Don't if you haven't! We charge £20 I think for wheel alighnment and getting the steering wheel in the right place is part of the job. It sounds like they only adjusted one of the track rod ends, so putting it out.
If the car doesn't pull to one side, it would be...
Top Dead Centre, Crankshaft posion centre. Basically the ecu of the engine management receives a signal from this sensor when you turn the engine over. When it thinks it's turning over fast enough it will then activate the fuel pump. Well this is based round a Renault so not sure about the Jap...
If you've got the fuel pissing out everywhere after you disconnected it, it's not worth checking the regulator or pressure. Check the injectors. There 5V not 12V by the way. Feed them with 12V and your just f**k em. Check for spark. Check TDC sensor. Ohm it out, shouldn't be any more than about...
The bar will only go in in one place. Keep turning the bar one notch at a time untill the bar goes in with very little resistance, than you should have no problem
It could be the CV joint of the driveshaft. Pull back the boot and check theres still grease in there. If that's OK the only other thing I can think of is that the driveshaft is hitting something???

Better than some cars I suppose. Some manufactures aren't even using dipsticks anymore, just electronic sensors for gauges on the dash. Could you trust that gauge and two wires to look after your engine? I couldn't. I'd rather struggle with the shitty Renault design!!!

Doesn't sound a bad price for four pot calipers. I know they haven't got a name like Brembo, but some of there four pot conversions are touching the £1000 mark.
You can check the play at the rear just like the front. (Shake the wheel top and bottom, then left and right). If not take the drum off (30mm nut) and turn the bearing with your fingers. It will be too tight to spin it but you should be able to feel some roughness if it has gone. As for...
Too small...? Not if it's lowered 100mm! Monzas look sweet especailly in white with red writing. I say get them. Better than standard wheels, small profile tyre so no tyre roll, and the acceleration will be quicker with 15's rather than 16's
Chris
If it's pulling to the left it could be torque steer. What car is it? If not it's gonna be the tracking prob. As for the steering play, get a new coloumn. Some people say weld it, but in my opinion as a mechanic I wouldn't weld anything to do with steering, suspension, etc. The heat could soften...
I'm not too sure of the diesel one will fit to be honest. I think the mounts are different? Are you sure the 1.2 one is more power than the 1.4 one. Doesn't make much sense to me really.
But anyway deff get a diesel battery, or if you have some money get yourself a deep cycle yellow top or...
yeah everything the same as your dash i did the same to mine. the ones for the rev counter is a black 2 pin connector (or 3 pin). it's just taped to one of the wiring looms. then if u get a oil level gauge from an RT that will work aswell. you'll have this connector on the back of sump somewhere...
Hi people,
Was having a think about the old beast today, and a 6 speed gearbox came to me. Does anyone know of another gearbox (Renault) that will fit the valver engine, or a company that manufactures / supplies one?
Cheers for ya help fellas
the 1.2 are injection.
the easiest thing to do would be get a dash from a RT then u get the water temp aswell.
all the wires for the rev counter are taped up behind the dash will take u about half hour to change, and will only cost about £10 from your local scrappy
there is no way of reseting it, even with diagnostic equipment, so try disconnecting the battery. If this doesn't work you'll have to goto Renault and put it on the Clip. They can't reset it, but can reconfigure bits if it's gone wrong some how. It might just be a sensor fault like your MAP, or...
Having the power cable and RCA next to each other shouldn't matter. The buzzing is coming from the amp normaly a small earth loop, if u turn the amp down the buzzing should go.
So what would you suggest i do? go for a set of throttle bodies, or go turbo conversion. was thinking of a loan of about £5000 to speed the old valver up a bit.
i was interested in some throttle bodies for my valver but couldn't find any info on them. does any one know where to get them from, price, and power gains? cheers, chris
Mine does that sometimes, i thought it was the heater in the oxygen sensor not working. Mine runs well s**t in the wet as well hold the revs at about 4K for 2 mins and it's fine again?????????
I wouldn't weld it if i was you. you shouldn't weld or heat up suspension, steering parts as it weakons the metal apparently. The MOT guy might not like it.
