i have a mk1 ph3 1.4 and changed my oil the other day but forgot to change the washer so now have to redo it as there is a slight leak. got a new washer but not sure which way up it goes, its smooth on one side and the other side has a split all the way round, does it need to face a certain way...

Not posted much before hope this is in the right section, sorry if it isnt. my windows on my mk1 ph3 are uber slow, is there anything i can replace to speed them up a bit? also is there anything i can fit so they are one touch, instead of having to hold them down?

I hade a problem a while back with water getting in, coming through the map light area. sealed the ariel and that solved it. but the other day i started up and heard a slooshing got to the end of my drive stopped and water came flooding out maplights sunroof handle and plastic upper sills...
