Had the same problem on my cup - used Autoglym Paint Renovator and a polishing cloth with a bit of elbow grease and it sorted the paint a treat :)

Ive already fitted the washers, didnt make a difference unfortunately! Its on 32k miles. All bolts are nice and tight.

Trying to locate the common knocking noise on my cup, front end jacked up, wheels on, bonnet open. If I hold either wheel at 12.00 and 6.00 and rock forwards and backwards, the top of the suspension visibly moves and knocks in the engine bay at the top mounts. Bearings knackered? Chris.

Sorry for sounding stupid, but how the hell do you remove the rear wiper arm from a Clio 172cup? I've had the nut off the wiper spindle but the arm wont seem to budge, left some wd40 on it and still no luck! I know its got to come off that way as you cant exactly squeeze the wiper motor out...

I have a 172 cup and my mate has a GTI6 and having been out for a spin in his, it's definitely significantly quicker than the figures make out. I believe that the official figures were actually recorded in a fully laden car, 4 occupants, to get the GTI6 into a lower insurance group, correct me...

I would have thought that the track day organisers would have insisted on drivers having insurance, I can understand if you were to smash into someone then costs could be settled out of your own pocket, but what if you were to cause damage to the track etc.? Greenlight said they couldn't...

Hey everyone, I posted on here a few weeks ago about car insurance and have managed to sort it out now, I tried Greenlight that someone suggested but they wont insure me on my Cup as it has no ABS!! Anyway, managed to get fully comp cover for just under £500 a year which is half what I paid for...

Just wondered if anyone has any ideas to help me get the shine back on my front bumper? Its a 172cup and the paintwork seems very dull on the front right of the bumper, and noticeably so after washing it! Is there anything I can use to help bring back the colour? Cheers guys,

None of you would like the Golf if you had to drive it every day with it being slammed almost 100mm and with low profile tyres stretched across 9" wide rims, it was an extremely bumpy ride! Couldn't bring myself to raise it to a more practical height though, thought it looked like a monster...

Im gonna try to make at least one track day this year, money is tight after buying the cup and have a holiday to save up for but maybe towards the end of the year I can give it hell on a track! :evil:

Mine was an 8valve so probably about 8/9 seconds, mine was fairly standard engine wise, had a performance induction kit, ignition leads and exhaust but that was it. Spent some serious £££ on that car but ultimately it was getting to the point where the cost and time of maintaining it and keeping...

You'll find halfords don't do rear wipers for a number of newer cars now, i forgot why exactly, but its something to do with the shape or fitment of the blade due to the curve of the rear window glass, the manufacturer makes the wipers different to "standard" ones and hence aftermarket ones...
