    Dilemma with my Clio

Hi guys, Just after some thoughts and opinions regarding my Cup - unfortunately it was involved in an accident recently where another car drove across the front of mine as I was pulling out onto the road and although the other driver had enough time and visibility, they still hit me. I am...

Marks left from Bird crap - Help!

Had the same problem on my cup - used Autoglym Paint Renovator and a polishing cloth with a bit of elbow grease and it sorted the paint a treat :)

    Quick technical question

    Quick technical question

Trying to locate the common knocking noise on my cup, front end jacked up, wheels on, bonnet open. If I hold either wheel at 12.00 and 6.00 and rock forwards and backwards, the top of the suspension visibly moves and knocks in the engine bay at the top mounts. Bearings knackered? Chris.

    172/182 strut top knocking fix

Hey guys, I've fitted these washers and thought it had quitened the noise for a while but now its back and sounds horrific, happens mostly when taking, say a 90degree right hand corner on a bumpy road, makes several loud clunks from the front. When the washers were fitted there was definite wear...

What is a proper driving position?

Im forever adjusting the seat positon in my cup to be comfortable, what works one day doesnt the next!! Im seriously tempted to buy some bucket seats just to improve the position. Does anyone else have the problem that when crossing your arms during a left hand corner your left arm comes real...

    Rear wiper arm...

Looks like i might have to drop it in round my mates garage then see if he can get it off, only need it off as the plastic base plate has faded and back to black wont bring it back to normal!

    Rear wiper arm...

Sorry for sounding stupid, but how the hell do you remove the rear wiper arm from a Clio 172cup? I've had the nut off the wiper spindle but the arm wont seem to budge, left some wd40 on it and still no luck! I know its got to come off that way as you cant exactly squeeze the wiper motor out...

306 gti6, how do they compare to...

I have a 172 cup and my mate has a GTI6 and having been out for a spin in his, it's definitely significantly quicker than the figures make out. I believe that the official figures were actually recorded in a fully laden car, 4 occupants, to get the GTI6 into a lower insurance group, correct me...

    Trackday insurance

I would have thought that the track day organisers would have insisted on drivers having insurance, I can understand if you were to smash into someone then costs could be settled out of your own pocket, but what if you were to cause damage to the track etc.? Greenlight said they couldn't...

    Trackday insurance

Hey everyone, I posted on here a few weeks ago about car insurance and have managed to sort it out now, I tried Greenlight that someone suggested but they wont insure me on my Cup as it has no ABS!! Anyway, managed to get fully comp cover for just under £500 a year which is half what I paid for...

    Insurance...

Cheers for the advice guys, I'll give Greenlight a try, £50 seems like a good price for track cover, I'll post up a quote when I get round to phoning them! :)

    Insurance...

Hey guys, haven't been on the forum for ages, whats happened to the main homepage?! Anyway, currently got my 172cup insured on a modified car policy as i had a few months left to run from my previous car and the company couldn't change it to a standard scheme so been paying a bit over the odds...

    Faded front bumper

Cheers for the advice guys, sorry for taking so long to reply! Im not aware of it having had a respray and it seems to be just the one part of the bumper. I'll try the autoglym polish first, if no luck, any idea how much I would be looking at to have the bumper re-sprayed, and would a good...

    Faded front bumper

Just wondered if anyone has any ideas to help me get the shine back on my front bumper? Its a 172cup and the paintwork seems very dull on the front right of the bumper, and noticeably so after washing it! Is there anything I can use to help bring back the colour? Cheers guys,

    Hey everyone!

None of you would like the Golf if you had to drive it every day with it being slammed almost 100mm and with low profile tyres stretched across 9" wide rims, it was an extremely bumpy ride! Couldn't bring myself to raise it to a more practical height though, thought it looked like a monster...

    Hey everyone!

Im gonna try to make at least one track day this year, money is tight after buying the cup and have a holiday to save up for but maybe towards the end of the year I can give it hell on a track!

    Hey everyone!

Mine was an 8valve so probably about 8/9 seconds, mine was fairly standard engine wise, had a performance induction kit, ignition leads and exhaust but that was it. Spent some serious £££ on that car but ultimately it was getting to the point where the cost and time of maintaining it and keeping...

    Hey everyone!

Most of my mates have vw's so you can imagine their reactions when I got the cup!

    I need a....

You'll find halfords don't do rear wipers for a number of newer cars now, i forgot why exactly, but its something to do with the shape or fitment of the blade due to the curve of the rear window glass, the manufacturer makes the wipers different to "standard" ones and hence aftermarket ones...

    Hey everyone!

Hey guys, loved my Golf, was completely mint, was pushing on 140k though and wanted something quicker, thought about an engine swap (1.8t) but after doing some research nothing seems to touch the 172cup for power per £!! Not regretting the upgrade at all though! :D

    Hey everyone!

Hey everyone, thought I should say hi as been browsing the forum for a while now, bought my 172cup a few weeks ago and really loving it! Hope to take it out on my first track day at some point this year to really make the most of it! Its completely standard and will be staying that way unless I...
