Hey all. Not been on here for a while, thought I'd post an update.
Well, I still own my Silver Cup. It has been a great experience since I picked her up 7 years ago now. 7 years! Crazy how time flies. We're coming up to 80,000 miles on the clock now. Not really done much driving these past few...
Well maybe I was a little hasty on my assesment after cleaning the throttle body but after a few days of driving it has now settled down to what I would consider normal.
Result.
How come in the handbook it states the code is 1352 yet when you put it in it just says ERROR. Has some sadistic previous owner changed the code or soemthing??
Hmm.... mine has an high tick over. Would be good to know what is causing it. It's a bit like the choke is stuck on or something. But it will be fine after 10 minutes or so driving.
Would be good to know what it is.
The spark plugs haven't been changed for, well, since I've had the car, so about 25,000 miles to my knowledge as I've just clocked 50,000 miles. Could it be possible that they haven't been changed yet??
You say check the coil. Any particular faults I'm looking for with it?
Cheers for the reply.
Hey guys wondered if I could get some help on a problem I've had today with the Clio. (It's a 172 Cup, 53 plate).
Drove to work as normal today, approx 30 mile trip, no problems. Now on the way back the electrical warning light (assuming it is this, it looks like a diesel plug pre-heater light)...
Slightly different but . .
I had a 309 GTi back in the day and near the end of its life the damned thing would always struggle to start. However, if you bounced the suspension and got the engine rocking a little then tried, it used to start like a dream! Can't remember who told me about this...
Fitted the new ones today (supplied by Auto-Nation, great service) and I just can't believe how much smoother it feels to drive. Mine must have been on the way out for a good while now as it hasn't felt so good to drive for ages!
Some little scrotes kept nicking my dad's tyre valve caps so he set some up with fine razor wire wrapped around them.
Problem solved. Cleaning the blood off was the only down side.
Hmm. Not drove it all week as I'm getting a lift to work. I have been quite tempted to do it myself over the weekend but I can't source any spare parts, nobody stocks them it seems. . . .Think I might have to bite the bullet and go to Renault? :S
EDIT. Just read my private messages! Thanks :)
Thanks guys. Ahh. . . that explains the thud noises which started last week, I was pretty sure it was something in the boot! Obviously not. I'll get it sorted this week. Cheers again.
What's gone wrong here then chaps? Noticed oil or fluid leaking on the drive, looked under the rear arch and  oh no, it was literally flowing out.
Is it safe to drive? Any idea what the damage could be? (to my pocket) . . . It's a 172 Cup by the way.
Thanks in advance.
Up and down the motorway mon-fri i get about 420, sometimes a little bit more. That's me in my 172 Cup.
I think of the tank as shaped like an onion, it's got to be cos my top bit goes down waay too quick but then it evens out. as it goes to halfway it seems to get stuck on half for ages!
