An update for anyone who cares!
I have bought my car back from the finance company and it is now (finally) HPI clear! Woohoo!
Anyway, I obviously can't afford to keep it due to me paying for it twice, so unfortunately it will be in the classifieds soon...
Sad.
He lives in St. Helens near Liverpool unforuntately, or so it says on the logbook. If he were in Bristol this would already be resolved if you catch my drift.
I have his name and address, and his telephone number (which he isn't answering).
This is information is nearly a year old though (he bought it in September 2006) so it can't be trusted now.
I have no idea really. I assumed that his company would have full access to the database as it was a car leasing company itself (albeit a reputable one). I guess there are no shortcuts for the check, just get a proper one done.
Ironically, I have since forked out for a HPI check with the AA. I am still the registered owner, but there is a lien on the car with Log Book Loans. It is described on the check as a Lease agreement.
I should also have personal recourse against the guy who sold it to be, as legally a leased...
I had a HPI check done by a friend who works for a car leasing company, as they have access to the database; it didn't show up. It's no use as evidence anyway as it is illegal to do that (as I have subsequently found out).
I did save £30 on the check though! Shame I lost £5,000 on the car...
Hi guys, my beloved 172 was recently reposessed due to the previous buyer having an outstanding loan which he did not repay with Log Book Loans. This reposession was unlawful and I have filed both Civil and Criminal law suits regarding this car and it's reposession.
Due to the dispicable...
I have had my 172 nearly a couple on months now. I absoloutely love it, I have always wanted one and it makes me smile every time I see it. It is by far the best bang for your buck IMO and it looks amazing (mine is black)!
Having riden an R6 for a year though, I miss the massive kick in the...
I'm 20 with no points and 0NCB, paying £1,400 with Elephant Fully Comp. Cheapest by a mile.
I've got 1 Years NCB on a bike though but that doesn't count
If I can handle an R6 without getting points of crashing, I can handle a Clio for crying out loud!
Damn practicalities of cars...
My nearside rear bearing is going now so I went to my local garage to get a quote and it's gonna be £160! Outrageous!
He said it was because I have disk brakes which take ages with the ABS sensor or something. 1.5 hours work.
Anyway, is this guy a joker or is this par for the course with the 172?
Cheers for that.
I just put in an old Pioneer HU I have lying around instead of the standard one to see if there is a difference, and hey presto the left speaker is working again. Still nothing from the front right tweeter though... My audio set up is a basket case!
I guess I'll just put up...
Hi guys,
I have a 2002 172 with the standard audio equipment. Unfortunately my left front speaker isn't working at all, and the tweeter is barely audible at volume 15. The right tweeter doesn't seem to work at all but the rest of the speakers are fine. I have tested the two front speakers (not...
Title says it all really.
I'm just curious.
Best - DB9 or F430, both were a pleasure. I just wound down the windows and enjoyed :D
Worst - Clio 1.2 in my 172 a week ago! My engine was cold and I had the mrs with me who hates racing. He has lexus lights and a burberry cap as well. The...
I'm a student so I only fill up a tenner at a time :o but the comp tells me I do about 38 usually when driving mainly sensibly but I've had it over 40. I think it's telling porkies though, 40 seems a tad optomistic to me...
I always use v-power by the way, dunno why, I feel bad otherwise :)...
Ah my bad. I have walked past staring longingly at that car every day for the past year and a half wishing I had one and now I do, woohoo (well, a 172 anyway)!
You are a brave man to park there, full of lunatics who can't park! There's no chance I would ever leave mine there, although car park...
Yeah I just saw a picture of the liquid yellow and thats the one. Best colour in my opinion with orange coming second. Bright cars kick ass! (so why have all my cars been blue?)
Cheers guys that has helped alot, just need to save up the wedge now! There is a gorgeous metallic yellow 182 with gunmetal anthracite wheels near me and it is absoloutely stunning. Never seen that colour clio before must be a custom paint job I guess...
Hey guys I'm new here and in the market for a hot hatch! I had a Saxo VTS when I was 18 but got bored of it within a few months. I'm a serious speed freak which is why I have a superbike now but really need a car as well (try doing the weekly shop with a backpack!). I've looked at all the hot...
