I've had a bit of a nightmare selling my car so far, so it's now on ebay for a very low price as I just want to bring this to an end. It's taken ages but for no apparent reason - no private buyers have even been to see it at all yet! Two local traders made me tolerable offers last weekend...
Hi
The plastic undertray between my splitter/spoiler and the bottom of my radiator is broken. How much are these new? Renault only part? Easy to fit?
Cheers
Tom.
Anyone tried them? They look promising for the money. I've got Sportlines on at the minute and thought it could make for a good combo.
Opinions please!
Evening all,
I'm going to take my Cup in to get the tracking done soon - what should the toe-in be set at?
It's on Eibach Sportlines and spends a fair bit of time on track on 888s if that makes any difference.
I think last time (when I bought the car) they just put it on standard settings...
I've got a standard exhaust on my 172 with a newish back box (replaced under warranty) but the centre section is about to go and I'm out of warranty now. Renault want nearly £200 for a centre section and I can't find one anywhere else. Does anyone else do them to fit the standard front section...

My cup sits on Turinis with standard 195/45/16s at the minute. Is there any downside to fitting 205/45/16s as on the Trophy?
I guess the speedo would be a tiny bit out and there would be a wee bit more weight, but I can't see any other problems.
Anybody?
Cheers
Tom.

Big stone chip right in the middle of my screen on way to work this morning - aaargh!
Am I right in thinking the 172 Cup has a lighter/thinner screen than the rest of the clios? If so, how do I get my screen replaced on the insurance without them just fobbing me off with the...
I need a full new set of wheel bolts for my cup.
What are my choices? Does anyone do strengthened ones for circuit cars? I snapped a couple last time out on track (overheated wheel bearing/hub) so I'm feeling a bit cautious!
If not, best place for standard?
Cheers
Evening all, before I put these up in the 'for sale' section I was wondering how much I should be asking for!
No pics yet, but they are four black speedline turbines, straight with no buckles or dings. They have been sprayed over in metallic black but realistically they need a refurb if...
Afternoon all,
I had a slightly dodgy wheel bearing when I went to Donington last Tuesday. It quickly became very dodgy, as a result of which as well as the knackered bearing I now have two broken wheel studs, a broken wheel and a broken hub flange. I guess that'll teach me.
Studs, wheel...
Can't make up my mind if they are OK or if they just ming!

I still have the turinis BTW, these are just a 2nd set.
I've got a spare set of silver 16" turinis from my 172. They've got Toyo T1Rs on with loads of meat left on them. No centre caps though, and they're a bit chewed round the edges from the previous owner's bad parking. Nice wheels though, and completely straight though with no dents or buckles...
OK - I've just fitted sportlines to my 172 cup and I'm not blown away but I'm pretty impressed - they don't seem any stiffer but give a better quality ride than the standard springs - maybe it's because they weigh a ton! They have yet to settle and I haven't taken it on track with the new...
OK - I'm trying to fit sportlines to my 172 cup. It's all standard at the moment. I Started with the rear because that's easiest. Followed the fubar guide to the letter but I can't get the rear beam to drop down far enough to get the springs out. I tried loosening the top mounts for the dampers...
I find the pedal spacing on my 172 useless for heel & toe - the pedals are too far apart.
Has anyone replaced either the brake or throttle pedal on their car to change this? If so, what did you do?
Cheers
Tom.
I'm thinking of sticking Eibach sportlines on my 172 Cup. They sound good for track use, but will they be noticeably harsher than the standard springs in everyday use? Anybody here got a set fitted and have an opinion?
Cheers
Tom
I fancy upgrading the coils on my 172 Cup to something which works better on track but is no harsher than the original setup for my daily commute. I've heard good things about Eibach. Would it be the proline or sportline that I'm after? Any other recommendations?
Will the standard dampers...
OK, so I've just put on my new rear discs with new bearings and pads, but I didn't pack any grease in with the bearings. Is this a mistake, or are they OK as they are sealed units anyway?
(PS - my car is a 53 172 cup (no ABS). The discs which came off were probably the original ones but they...
I'm thinking of replacing mine as they're on the way out.
The car's a 172 Cup used for track days but also 100 mile round trip daily commute so I can't go for anything too firm.
Is there anything out there a bit better quality than stock which would fit the bill?
Are they a DIY job to...

I agreed to buy some wheels back in January from a guy in Ipswich who backed out when he found out the postage costs and still hasn't sent my money back.
The wheels are 15" valver/19 speedline jobs with used 195/50/15 yokohamas on them. I agreed to pay £40 plus £30 postage...
.....are bloody good. The cooked knackered OMP 971 pads which I took off were cheap but only lasted one trackday and about 2000 miles. DS2500s have much more bite and should cope with track days better.
That is all.
Evening all
In the last week or two I've acquired a creaking noise from my rear end at low speeds.
My car is a 172 cup. I've heard the rear dampers are a weak spot but they aren't leaking.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Tom.
I've got a new dogbone for my 172 and now it just needs fitting. Is it easy enough to do as a DIY job in half a day, or should I just get someone else to do it?
Cheers
Tom.
OK - I now have two sets of wheels:
16" for road and wet track use. I've got Toyo T1-Rs on these.
15" for track use, but need to be road legal so I can get to/from the track
I'm looking for tyre suggestions for the 15" set. Ideally I'd like to get some cheapo track tyres like maxsport...
I guess these should fit OK, but what is the offset of the older wheels? Will I need to use spacers or anything to get a similar offset to the Turinis? If so, where would I get the spacers?
Thanks as always
Tom.
