Yeah it's an 04 plate. Was having a look through other people's problems on here and the coil pack or MAP sensor seems to be the most likely thing at the moment. Do you lot think it could be either of them?
I should also add that the jerkiness happens when I am at lower revs in any gear. Typically it happens between 2000 and 2500 revs. It only really clears at 3000 revs and up. It's not that I'm driving at too low revs because I have always driven at similar rev counts in each gear and never had...
Sorry, but you will have to explain further. I'm not good when it comes to car parts, etc. I can fill up the oil, etc and thats about as far as my knowledge goes
I have been having this problem on and off for a few weeks now and just as I get to a garage to get the problem fixed, it sorts itself out and so the garage hasn't been able to do much about it.
Basically, when pressing the accelarator the car accelarates jerkily and sometimes very slowly...
So I had the Alpine 9850Ri fitted today at Halfords in Southport, bought and fitted for £159. Surprisingly they did a very good job, told me it would be an hour (covering their backs i suppose) and was done when i came back 45mins later. The HU is great, i highly recommend it to anyone wanting...
take no notice mate, it isn't to my taste but like you say it is your opinion that counts. having said that, you did ask for people's opinions and now you are getting them.
p.s. i see you took nice of my post about it being a mk2 ph2 clio....goodboy ;) (joking)
just been into halfords with my dad to show him which headunit i was gonna order off the internet (Alpine 9850Ri). My dad managed to get them to do it fitted for £159 because i showed them it was cheaper on the internet! so next monday halfords are fitting the stereo
Thanks a lot everyone, I'm definitely going to go for the Alpine 9850Ri and I'm going to make a botched attempt at installing it myself. My car is a Mk2 Ph2 so I probably won't bother with the stalk adaptors if it means having to remove the dash.
Do you know which adaptors and roughly how much they would cost? Do you have the adaptors?
Also, what would need removing to install the adaptors, I don't want to be removing the dash or anything like that.
The Alpine 9850Ri is what I will probably get. Does it come with all the leads to attach the fingertip controls and the display does anyone know?
My car is an 04 Mk2 Clio btw if it makes any difference.
Thanks for the advice. Definitely don't want to look like a chav. Money situation is looking a bit better as it's my birthday on wednesday and so far i have received more money than expected so i probably will go for an Alpine. The reason I have been looking in halfords is because i don't have...
what about kenwood then? they had this in stock in my local halfords:

I've seen a Ripspeed HU in Halfrauds that I like and i am wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with this make? I have up to £150 at most to spend and want a HU with an iPod cable. I know Alpine seem to be the recommended make, but they are quite expensive (cheapest i saw in...
When buying my 1.2 Expression, i was told it was a 1.2 Dynamique Expression. I assumed he wasn't stupid and was just trying to sell the car but reading about some of the stupid dealers on here he probably was thick as pig s**t
thanks mate, will do that. sounds like water from the catalyst to me as the liquid was only a small amount and was at the tailpipe end. pretty much 100% sure its not petrol.
is water from the catalyst normal or a problem?
its a mk2 ph2 04 1.2 3 door expression. you've scared me now! :( this can be fixed under warranty can't it? the liquid from the exhaust doesn't smell like petrol though.
wet patch is on the ground below the car, it appears everytime the car has been on for about 5 mins
maybe its just pissing condensation as the exhaust would have been cold when the engine is turned on?
also, i've just had the car running now and i've noticed that every time its been on after about 5 mins there is a wet patch just under the exhaust (i don't know what it is, but it doesn't smell like petrol)?
its been on a dealers forecourt for a while, i've only just bought it. i don't know...
yeah i know thanks, i checked it the other day and its about 1cm over the max, i asked my dad if its way too much but he said the engine sort of bottle necks so its not actually as much as it seems i just included that incase it was part of the reason why the car smells of petrol when i turn it...
