yeah they are T20's if i remember rightly and are a bugger to get to, I used some right angled torx drivers to get them out but i think u could use a normal torx driver you would just have to angle it slightly to reach the screws.
Once you have pulled the rubber snake off you can see where there are gaps in the block for that part of the connector. The other bit that is fixed to the door plate can be removed by unscrewing the 2 screws that are about 1cm above and below where the block comes through the door plate. when...
I just spent the best part of all day yesterday trying to figure out the best way; it was a pain in the ass! I ended up just pulling the rubber snake thing off the door and drilling a hole through part of the connector that didnt have a wire in it. this then allowed me to feed the speaker cable...
cheers, looking at that i'm sure that the JBL amp actually comes with something similar, except it has a block connector (it says that its a high level input in the manual).
If you are on about Norwich union I know what you mean they always seem to give me good quotes and everywhere else is really expensive for me. Strange as it seems to work the other way round for everyone else I know!
Thanks for the quick replies. I'm thinking that I might be better off buying a new HU with 2 preouts by the sounds of it. Any recommendations for a headunit with 2 preouts that is around £100 or so?
Would it not work to just use 2 y-splitters to split the one preout into two separate ones...
Hey,
I have just installed new headunit (Pioneer DEH-3900MP), 4 channel amp (JBL GTO75.4) , components (Infinity 5010cs) and sub (JBL GTO1260B) and I have a question about the RCA cables.
The amp has a separate input for front and rear channels (i.e. 2 sets of RCA cables needed) however my...
Hey don't know if this will be of any use but Direct Line have started letting you use your No Claims on your second car so you would be able to use your 5 years NCD on both. They also give you a 10% discount if you insure 2 cars.

Cheers Has, you were right it was the interior lighting fuse. Replaced it and it is all working again. But since i've got the dash off I might as well install those comps i've been putting off because I didnt dare rip the dash off! :D
Are there any other fuses that it could be besides the audio fuse that is in the fusebox next to the passengers footwell (as i have changed this)? I've changed the fuse on the back of the headunit aswel but is there a fuse for the display at all?
Cheers
hey, thanks for the reply. I have just had a good check to see if the ISO block has any loose connections and i'm sure that there aren't any. Could anything else be wrong with it?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
I pulled my headunit out this morning to fit an aerial adaptor and when I put everything back and turned the ignition on the display in the center of the dash (the one for time/date/temp etc..) was blank and the CD player had no power. I swapped the headunit back for the standard renault...
Thanks guys, the replies have been helpful, I actually had no idea how important cabling was until I started reading up on how to install the amp. Would this RCA cable be a good match for the system?
