Jesus it's £258.49 at Renault Oldham. Do independent local garages base their price on Renault? Only the mechanic said he would need to check the computer.
Hi,
Car has just been booked in for a service at local garage. Any idea how much a service at 60k costs? Guy on phone couldn't give me a price; seems odd.
Yes the air con does need regassing as this summer it wasn't cool enough. I drove the car late last night and tested the heating and it appeared to work fine. I tried it on hot and the car heated up and then put the controller down to min and it began spitting out cool air.
Weird...
Hi,
I've noticed a problem with the heating system in my Clio 172 02. No matter what temperature I set the climate control to, it seems to distribute hot air. I can still control the flow of air and all the other controls, just not the temperature; seems to be hot all the time.
Any ideas...
Yes, the TDC sensor has a blue socket and the other part has a blue socket on the end with a pink and yellow wire, plus two plastic heat shrink things.
Cheers for that.....I've cleaned it a few times and gradually the car starts to go back to how it was, I'll just replace it with the new TDC sensor.
Thing is, I'm not entirely sure how to as the wires are different apparently on the new ones. So if anyone has any instructions on how to fit...
Hi,
I've just purchased a new TDC sensor and wiring and Reno quoted 1.5 hours at £70 an hour to fit it - I think I'll have a go myself.
So, the question is, how do I go about fitting it?
Failed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On hand brake not being tight enough and nearside rear tyre is split and classed as dangerous. At least it is nothing serious like emmissions or something (Like last year).
Hi,
I have my MOT due before next Saturday and seen as i'm off work thought i'd check the car over. I thought i'd start with the brakes first, they look ok to me but i'd appreciate it if anyone else could check the pictures for me. It would only allow me to upload 5 so the remaining three are...
Hi,
I'm going to attempt to change the sparks on my 172 2002 which is on 54k and I don't think they have ever been changed in the past.
I've been reading a few articles on here but have a few questions which I hope can be answered.
1. When replacing the plenum/inlet manifold gasket does it...
Correct. I had to buy a wishbone to get the ball joint, I had people telling me you could get it as a seperate part but you can't. There is a couple of mm difference apparently, consequently, the whole arm needs to be purchased. It cost me around £60 for the arm and £15 to have it fitted...
Yes the noise on my car only appears when starting the car after not driving it for a while, it then disappears after the engine warning up.
I can leave it over night and the noise will appear but I can leave it for a few hours and it'll be fine.
Hi,
Recently I've noticed a noise when starting the car, it's a kind of whining noise. It only seems to make the noise when i've just started the car and then when the engine settles after warming up the noise seems to go.
I had the cambelt, aux belt and tensioners changed August last year...
Hi,
Last night when putting the car in the garage the lights didn't automatically turn on even though it was sufficiently dark enough to cause the gel pack to work. Plus, at the same time I noticed the "SERV" light on in the top right of the central area on the dash.
I turned the lights on...
My MPG dropped a while back (when it started to get cold) and I put it down to the low temperatures but recently i've noticed a slightly poor tick over. I'm not sure where to start because I dont want to go forking out loads for coilpack, HT leads, sparks etc. Initially I was going to start with...
