yeah they started in 2000.ive been a bit lucky with mine it was reg in september 2000. i would like to sell it and get something a bit newer but its so silly that u get taxed more on the same car 6 months newer than mine its a joke

what way does the washer go round? im sure i put both sides on the same,and 1 side is fine.

yeah brand new nuts that was in the kit with a a nylon washer insert. when i do it up really tight the disc wont turn.so i let it off a bit and after a week or so it is loose again

ive got a early shape 172 clio. i have just fitted 2 new rear wheel bearings and for some reason the centre nut on 1 side keeps loosing its self off.any ideas????? i cant do the nut up really tight with the nut gun because it stops the disc from turning.there is a small metal washer behind the...

its using 8.5mm magnecor leads just now which arent that old. not sure then fella.i changed them and the plugs and it worked fine.

i had a similar problem with my 5 turbo,thats got omex and it was down to some crap leads,it kept eating the plugs.changed them for a set of 10mm magnercore and it done the trick.

as the title says.brand new alternator and belt on my car but no charge.thinking it could be the cables on the back wrong.:mad:

i put the engine in myself and ive got the 2 wires coming of the alternator.the large red power cable and that small plug with just the 1 wire coming off it.there is a small spade connecter coming out the new alternator that wasnt on the last 1.could it be that?

any ideas?

how can i check? i got the belt on with the tensioner fitted.with the bottom roller off and the alternator as loose as poss.put the bottom pully on and then leaved the alterntor up so i could get the top bolt in?

got my engine back in my early 172.put a new aux belt on it and a new alternator from renault and when i started the car the battery light is still on? any ideas? also the red stop light is on? :(

can you take the rocker cover off and have a look? myt be cheaper and easier to get a second hand engine and just swap it over maybe?

it is so bad between the head and the manifold aswell. thats a job i will def have to do then.:D

stripped the inlet manifold of my early 172 and found it is so poorley made. got to be holding it back a few bhp. anyone else had this problem?

hi everyone got a early 172 and ive noticed that the edge of the plastic alternator pully has broken off and could of easly cut the aux belt.:dapprove: that was cleaver y didnt they make them out of metal. not only that they dont sell the pully seperate at renault and u have to buy a hole new...
