Yeah that looks like it`ll do it mate.
I hoovered the hole, then disconnected the fuel rail and turned the engine over (without the spark plug in) which fired more out, hoovered again and then just fired her up. Never had an issue, hope you don't either (y)
and the advice is that they will drop further with the potential rise in unemployment and people needing to free up money - cars are usually the first thing to go.
Decided I wan`t something bigger - Looking at something to tide me over for a year that's under 10k as the GTR would be loan...
Reprogrammed the ECU with the RON97 and it`s been lowered - Haven`t decided if im breaking or selling as is yet. Will let you know though (y)
Agreed amigo, the car did everything i wanted, but it could also be life telling me its time to by that Nissan GTR I've always dreamed of :)
I didn`t really listen properly when Mike told me - Big end maybe, chewing oil - I just got the new engine part, will listen better when i go get it tomorrow.
Its on about 120k if memory serves (Have the cruise control on all the time so don`t see millage that often.)
Spent £1,100 on it in...
Just got the news that, after 14 years of ownership (abuse), my 182 is dead. Needs an engine transplant if its going to be brought back and my gut tells me that isn`t worth doing.
Soooooo, where do I go from here? :(
What cars have you lot fallen in love with after moving on from a Clio?
Quick update - all seems to be sorted
Bought an expensive kit of amazon and the bloody insert instalation tool was to short. But the kit @Darryl_1983 recommended and it worked fine ?
Not been out for a blast yet but she's is idling fine so ???
As always cheers for the help amigos
@R3k1355 I will have to hold my hand up to being that dick head - Owned her 11 years and I dont let anyone else touch her
Are all Helicoil sets similar in quality or is there a recommended brand to go for?
and chewed a HT lead to boot.....
Hey guys
I'm going with the assumption that the plug has worked lose and popped out causing all of this. Before throwing a new plug and HT lead on I'm guessing i should be checking the cylinder for debris? Couple of pics below and any advice what i need to...
@STEVE.M Cheers mate, far to drunk/hungover, over the bank hol to reply.
I`ve probably messed up the carbon canister bits, so going to try that first. I did pop the top of the CC, when doing the AUX belt, and struggled to put it back on. Then throttle body.
Cheers for letting me know a sensible...
Damn was that back in 2014! Yeah its the same betty, owned it 10 years now. Its my daily so lots, i noticed the fault after doing the Aux belt, but it {may} have been around before.
I know this has been asked but it`s hard working out which post to go from so quick bit of help please.
When cold the car (182) revs do not drop back to 1100 like they should but stay up around 2/3k and bounce around a bit but slowly comes down most of the time. When warm it doesn`t do that...
Not played PubG, but love this. Quite good at it too in all respects. Jackfrags did a nice comparison video a few days back on Fortnight vs pubg. Personally stayed away from pubg because of all the issues and then this was free, with no real optimisation issues, so no brainer.
They look/are the same. I would use the smaller one as it is the same as the original. I would probably use the old nut if I were doing it, although shiny is shiny so no harm using the new. Have no idea about the o-ring but if it fits then why not
As you may be able to tell, i`m no expert...
The tie rod tool was bloody useless, think it may have been slightly to big, ended up using a pip wench on the passenger side. Drivers side there was no room so just aborted as that was only an advisory. Still car feels tons better, with new shocks and just the one side with the refreshed tie...
It may have been f7R he originally selected. When i pointed it out we went through the system together and couldnt find a Clio with an engine code f4r. He said it was quite common to not find the right engine code (more often than you would think; were his words) and procedure/rules were to do a...
I probably shouldn`t have put the 'massive favour' bit in as it always passes after a bit of an Italian tune up. Genuinely interested to know as he did everything else by the book
So whilst chatting to the fella at my local Kwik Fit, whilst he was doing my Mot, I noticed the engine code he selected for the emissions test wasn`t f4r. It was for a clio but after 1.8l all he had was 16v, but the engine code was different.
It failed first time as normal, so I mentioned it to...
