Failed on both rear springs being broken (and not just the tips). Either my driving style or the state of the f***ing roads (or possibly fatigue after seven years). This did happen to my BM that I had previously so it may be my driving style, ie the fastest way from A to B is to grip the seat...
My 172 cup is in for the MOT tomorrow and I have printed off the relevant information regarding the rear brakes. Are there any other directives for the testing station as I was under the impression that there was a notification to test centres regarding emmisions for the 172 cup.
Any testers...
Can somebody post a picture of a 172 cup thermostat location in the engine bay. Mines overcooling so probably stuck open want to change it but need to know where it is.
Cheers
Put a purple rinse through yer hair and the civic should grow on you ;)
Sorry about the cup.
It is funny tho how after i got my clio i felt the urge to tell people to change their hair.
If this item works by fooling the ECU into overfueling then you will be getting unburnt fuel being taken out of the cylinder and passing through your HOT exhaust system. The unburnt fuel will then ignite in the exhaust system and will probably destroy your cat. DON'T DO IT. :nono:
had the same problem a month ago. knocking under hard acceleration in 1st &2nd. replaced the engine mount under the battery holder and it's gone. Hope this helps.
Obliged by the replies so far.
I only want the link. Have tried evo online and drawn a blank but can remember seeing it within a post on this forum some time ago.
Have tried a search on here with the keywords 172cup v6;) but b**ger me there's a lot to look through.
I love the vee. It's sooo...
Mates first comment when driving my cup (a**sehole didn't take it over 6Krpm) was how good the seats felt (6' 1)
they still look and feel shite though!
TYRE UPDATE:
Have fitted the Goodyear F1 GSD3s (all round)
Apart from looking the mutts nuts they have totally changed the dynamics of the car...for the better:D
Surefooted, predictable and soooo much more enjoyable. (Also so much more rubber bits on the sides of the car;) ) (is this...
I believe Evans Halshaw Dealerships have a three month warranty on all major mechanicals including electrical sensors. My advice would be to get a recognised motor engineer to look at the car and list its faults, scrutinise the warranty small print for exclusions then see what's left on your...
I have had a look at the clio guides on the forum and have found that the cup should be running 2.7bar (39psi) on the front tyres and 2.2bar (32.5psi) on the rears. The front pressure seems very high, can anyone confirm these pressures.
Alternatively I am soon putting F1's all round (previous...
Yup christopher next mod is four eagle f1s (and soon). Had these on one of my previous cars and vowed then to use them again (so much grip wet & dry and no noticeable change through wear). I have also on previous cars run Bridgestone potenzas (directional, okay but a bit noisy), Michelin pilot...
...winter to come so I can enjoy my lightweight non electronic driver aided 172cup on the icy/snowy (but probably just wet) backwacks which is my daily commute. :dead:
I'm sure my work will benefit as I will be wide eyed and fully awake by the time/if I get there.
I've loved the drive (even in...
Slightly off topic but..
one of my workmates has just bought a vxt. came to work in it an took me for a blast (mainly twisty country lanes & national nearby). Fook me they are quick and very flat through the corners.
I was going to show him what the cup would do but my fire had definitely been...
I have had wheelspin @ 50mph in third last Friday when it was hammering it down. Straight line though so no worries just a bit unexpected. I have noticed though that I can slide the back end slightly when it is wet making left or right turns, could be due to the camber on the cup rear wheels...
Follow your heart not your head
You can have one for a few months then downgrade if it's costing too much. you will probably lose a bit if you do but hey, it's only money and you can earn some more. At least you will have had what you wanted. Don't mod it, it doesn't need it and you...
Neat looking 182 in blue this morning passed me in my 172cup at roughly 08.40 this morning heading toward the monument junction at Tickhill (nr Doncaster). Anybody on here?
I think I know exactly how your feeling. I recently bought a 172 cup that i knew needed a few jobs doing to put it right. So after having new rocker cover seal, new exhaust, front struts, driveshaft and cv gaiter (all under warranty) and a cam belt kit fitted for £160 plus an oil & filter...
