The DCi. Easily. You get way more from a remap on anything with a turbo...
But if you added a 57i, K&N, a stealth thingy and some neons you'd be into Gallardo territory
Just in case anyone else has this problem; we managed to sort it out.The dipped beam lights are the projector lensed ones. The reason the main beam lights weren't working was because there were no bulbs in there (D'Oh!)
Managed to get a set of new old stock dual optics off ebay for a good price, and the bonnet, slam panel and engine mount have been replaced. I've welded in new headlamp bowls and started repairing the bumper and plastic welded the fronts of both front wings.
It's back on the road for now; but...
Cheers Mick,I can see where you're coming from with the pressure thing; and will try that on my days off this week (starting tomorrow); but how would your suggestions explain the smell of diesel in the coolant (and the darker colour of the coolant)?I'm hoping it's not the head gasket; although...
Ok, so I have a project - it's an overheating Clio DCi 65 which is partly made to look like a Sport.I was thinking head gasket at first; but there is definitely no water in the engine oil. The coolant in the expansion tank is dark coloured, but not oily - it kind of smells like exhaust gasses...
Cheers Jay - does DCi 65 have an oil cooler then?
Any idea where I'd find it and how hard it will be to replace? On the search earlier I found someone talking about the water pump leaking through the bearing when the engine was running; but I can't see how that would darken the coolant...
I've recently acquired a 2002 DCi 65, which has overheating problems; and before I start stripping the head down; I was wondering if any of you experts might know of another problem that might cause this other than a blown head gasket...
The car still drives fine, no loss of power (it's a...
The lights are smashed to bits inside, the reflectors are shattered and the rear of the light casings are well and truly knackered. :(
The slam panel is also bent backwards, the headlamp bowls are damaged and the top offside engine mount broke. I think the bumper is salvageable, as are the...
Re: Car Has been Wrote off again!
So the barriers are designed to be hard, like a brick wall. And yet look at the damage his "20mph" impact has done to them. And then remember that the offending car spun him so he lost control and went into the barrier. He didn't hit them at the speed he was...
it's easy. I've done it a few times, you do have to either remove the top of the dashboard, or lift it right up out of the way as the speedo head is screwed in at the bottom and then sits in a "hinge" type slot at the top (you'll see when you remove it)Speedo comes apart really easily
Re: Car Has been Wrote off again!
My point exactly. At 20mph there is no way you would have "gone into a spin"
I agree, 20mph head on will cause a lot of damage. But he wasn't driving head on into the barriers, he was *allegedly* travelling at 20mph perpendicular to them when a car came out...
Re: Car Has been Wrote off again!
You didn't get "t-boned" mate; there is hardly any damage to your passenger rear quarter. If you'd been doing 20mph and been hit that gently on the rear quarter you would have stopped in less than 20 feet.
Re: Car Has been Wrote off again!
:dapprove: I'm a crash investigator -- I'm just saying you don't lose control at that kind of speed and do that sort off damage unless your a r****d...:dapprove:
Re: Car Has been Wrote off again!
You were going at 20mph on the approach to a pedestrian crossing, and a woman came out off a junction and "tapped" the side of your car sending you into a spin where you ended up hitting the railings?
At 20mph?
yeah, right...
update - the switches are completely different - there's no way the Ph1 window switches are going to fit in the Ph2 card. Guess I'll have to rewire the Ph2 switches...Anyone done this before?
As above, I am changing the front door cards over, to match the Ph2 cup seats I now have inside.
Are the electric window switches wired the same? (ie will the plugs just swap over) or am I going to have to rewire the switches?
Anyone?:dapprove:
