I'd smack my mate about the head if he did that to my car. I have some "friends" who let their kids trash the inside of their relatively new car, and think it's hilarious.
I just think it shows a general lack of respect for anything; including other people...
Bodyshop couldn't do it either. The top hinge was eassy they said because you have the whole height of the door to swing the hammer; but the bottom hinge is knocked out upwards and because of the sill, tthere is no clearance underneath to swing a hammer at it.

Go for it! If you f**k it up, you've only wasted the cost of the paint, and any half decent bodyshop won't charge extra to put right your mistakes.
Just remember to remove all traces of plastic dressing on your bumper bits, and use proper plastic primer!
Why is my dashboard sticky? (No rude comments please)
It's a blue dash on a 2000 X plate 1.4 sport; and I've tried wiping it with all sorts of cleaners etc, but it just remains sticky (and the cloths come out blue with alcohol wipes too:rasp:)
Ok, so I bought my son a 1.4 Sport (X reg) to learn to drive in - only thing is, when I took the air filter box off the throttle body came off with it!
It would appear that there is nothing bar a poxy rubber seal holding the throttle body in place - without the airbox in place to hold it down...
