Hi all, Noticing a strange thing happening in the world of Clio .... If you go on autotrader and look at 1.4 RTs, RSI or 1.8 RTs they are the same price as same milage/age Valvers! If anything the RSIs are alittle more! Whats going on?

Its not using water. It looks like its comming from the cat i.e. being produced at the cat rather than somthing engine related comming out through the cat but, without being able to get under the car its a trickey job to see anything! All the smoke is from the cat not the exhaust? Would it run...

There is a rare 3rd option ..... The first Clio I got, at 18 and just recently brought the misses one .... the 1.8RT. Its basically like any RT but has nicer seats (but not sports) and, as the name implies a 1.8 lump under the bonnet. Its a 95bhp 8v mono-point job, quite pokie and GROUP...

Got me think now, these butter power steering, the electric sunroof, extra dails, a much stiffer "chassis" ... The only share peices of body work are the roof and boot. The valvers even got Fibreglass frount wings to balance up the weight of that staggering lump! Any me a Ben have missed ....

Dont forget a close ratio box, uprated clutch and as std 7,200 rpm! 16vs rock and you can get good one cheap now but, that mainly due to high insurance and maintance costs!! Be carefall of cars around 80k .... will be cheap becasue thay need a new timing belt and most will need a new clucth...

May sound silly but a very simple thing that Ive seen over looked before is have you tried jump starting her? May still turn over but not with enough grunt due to not running for ages? The starter motor is on the small side for the size of the engine anyway so tends to demard a well cahrged...

£275 for a box recon is excellent!! I had a s/h box put in and that was £300 ish. The £500 + vat is a RECON BOX WITH EXCHANGE from Reno but they will exchange and 16v for a willy box

BB are claiming there 16v turbo, which is 98% complete will hit over 300bhp!! This is prob at 50 psi or something daft but they say kits will soon be avalible. check out the website

hmmmm ... The old GT5 lump ... I cant say Ive ever been a fan of the car but Ive seen some proper Clio coversions. Dont rule it out till youve spoken to Tortion Tunning, they do most of the bits on me valaver now but the GT5 conversion is there speciality so theyve normal got the engines and...

Thats nothing fella, You got to rip out 2 engine mounts, shred the clutch, do at least one drive shaft and replace all the steer system (pump, rack and coloum) and then your on your way there ..... All that grunt does come for free!
