Just wondering if I should be worried as there is a slight knocking / growling / banging (sound appears to come from passenger side front) as I accelerate harshly (reving very high) in 1st and 2nd gears. Any ideas what this could be?
Chers in advance for any help.
maybe they have roofbars so they can carry stuff on them??? Like I dunno, maybe a bike, canoe, top box?? I doubt they have them there to make the car look good.
Prob a stupid question, but thinking of doing track days and just wanted to check that the standard exhaust would be well under the sound limit for any track day? Thanks in advance...
i'd have to disagree on cruise front, i have it my volvo and use it most of the time, granted sometimes it is too busy to use it.
Not really bothered if the clio has it or not as its not going to be used for long distance driving...i got it just to have some fun in.
just had a quick look at the pics i have of the car it defo has no cruise (presuming its buttons would be on the steering wheel)...where would the tc / esp or whatever its called button be?? or can you not turn it off?
mine is an 03 plate and as far as i am aware it has no cruies, no traction control and no cd changer....does sound about right....i havn't actually picked it up yet....but i am 99% sure i would have noticed cruise...not sure about the other two tbh....wasn't expecting any so wasn't looking out...
Just wondering if this belonged to anybody on here or anybody knows of it...would be intresting to know a bit about its history, maybe find out what i am letting myself in for ...
I am not too worried about letting her learn to drive on it, I have spoken to people on here who have had other halves learn to drive on the 172 and they managed alright. As long as she doesn't push it, which she won't because shes not stupid it will be ok.
Insurance is not bad...only an extra...
I have been listed on my dad's insurance on the volvo for the last year or so. He stated that I was the main driver, but he owned the car and was insuring it. This was with Norwich union and it reduced the cost of the quote from when I was only a named driver.
I have just been quoted £1350 for...
cheers guys...
Will get some pics up when I pick it up..
Can't wait to take it the nurburgring in the summer, should be very very good fun round there.
you make a good point.
Basically what I don't want to do is waste money on cheap budget tyres and wreck the handling of the car.
I have heard horror stories about 172s and budget tyres...i could be wrong though, I am very new to 172 game.
I think it depends...if the car had the extra 12is k on the clock and was over the 100k mark i think i wouldn't have taken a 2nd look at it - even if it was 300 or 400 quid cheaper.
If it hadn't have had service hist then it would have been a no go for sure...
At the end of the day in an ideal...
you see im not sure how it got the milage, I know which i'd choose, so i hope its spent a lot of its life on the motorway....we will just have to see how it pans out.
Not a fan of the non standard head unit that is in my new clio, so I am looking to put back in the original CD player. Was wondering if anyone knew the model number of the original radio...its an 03 plate 172.
Do all clios of that age have the same radio?
yeah I had a look at the tyre pole, it has helped alot. But wasn't sure if there was much difference in tyres depending on what you were using them for. For example some ppl might want to base there tyre choice on whats best on a track, where as, because have only just got the car, i want the...
glad to hear a bit of positive feedback about millage. I know there is, like always a risk when buying a car. Higher millage is more of a risk, but I think most will agree this was reflected well in the price...after all the car is nearly 6yrs old...so thats only just over 14.5k a year, so not...
No I wasn't expecting mint or low millage for 3k im not that stupid....However I think Its in pretty good condition and the I know the millage is on the higher side...but for 2.8k it aint that much of a dog....
The belts have been done. They were done at something like 70ish k when it was 3 yrs...
I've had a look around on the forum and I know tyres have been covered alot...but I just want to know what tyres people think will be the best for me...
I want tyres that will give good road handling and grip in all conditions (the car will be used by my gf to learn to drive on)
I also want them...
