My 2002 172 has developed a problem today... It'll accelerate as it normally does up to about 4500 rpm, after that the engine usually accelerates very hard up to the limiter - not today, after about 4500 rpm it feels like it's really struggling to accelerate and I dare not take it much past...

The sister company of the place I work is a metal machine shop. If I was to ask them to match my inlets, how specifically would I ask them to do it? Is it an easy enough operation for a skilled machine shop?

Is it worth upgrading the plugs when using the RS Tuner maps? I've heard iridium plugs or NGK coppers (BCR8ES) might work well with remapped 1*2's. Anyone tried it or had any results?

I had the windscreen on my 172 replaced today by autoglass as it had a stone crack in it. I got chatting to the fitter and he said that the standard 1*2 windscreens are worth about £300 to £400 and also said that the blue coating which looks like a slight tint is a titanium film. I didn't...

Are there any companies that make speedo dials for the 1*2's that look like the 197 (like picture below)? I know you can buy white ones from companies like this http://www.visual-performance.co.uk/# but I love the look and style of the numbers etc on the 197.

I have a fairly large dent (if you can call it that) in one of my alloys where the previous owner must have curbed it. Will this cause me any problems or increase the risk of a blow out? Thanks, Matt

Parked next to a non RS clio today at Fitness First in Huddersfield. Had some nice mods on it - looked like it had a cup spoiler & vented disks at the front. Tidy!

Passed a black 172 near B&Q in Huddersfield today. Looked very nice. It was lowered with yellow side bullets i think.

Hi All, Thought i should introduce myself. I've been on the boards for a month or so, and bought myself a Monaco 172 in November '08 - Loving it! I've done quite a few things to it already. I should be fitting my splitter tomorrow, then be able to post some before & after pics of the mods...
