If they weren’t get hot enough I don’t see them causing this issue. I just see them performing poorly. When you looks at their specs it doesn’t make sense.
From the description it seems like there was loads of fast down hill driving so I can see them getting really hot. But still don’t see this...
Hello, first post in many many years so go easy on me.
My 172 CUP is running ePAS with a dci rack. I converted it back in 2013 or 14 and it’s been working fine ever since.
However the car has been off the road a while now and decided to turn it into a full track car rather than let it sit there...
I would imagine it handles better on the standard springs? Think Renault Sport knew what they were doing when they made the trophy.
Lowering a car with just lowering springs will have an adverse effect on handling (its different if you move the hard points as well). The improved centre of...
Do you hear it, feel it or both.
I would be surprised if it was the above but surely the easiest thing to do would be to drop it low and try it, you can always put it back.
Really you should A-B-A it. So you have a knock now. Drop the suspension, not changing anything else, if you get no...
I don't have any pictures to hand, but the ebay pictures give you a good idea of the extra lip. I haven't measured any brake temps since fitting (or before fitting for that matter) but I have worked in brake cooling at work and was happy enough with the basic principle of what they do and the...
I have a set of these, went for the aggressive option. I was really impressed with them, think they look lots better on the car than in the ebay pictures and fitting is so easy. I didn't even need to secure the hose to the back of the duct.
Have run a couple of 12 car rallies with them and...
I am sure someone will tell me I am wrong but I thought all TD need spigot rings and as such these should fit with the correct rings fitted. As above thought they were all 73.1?
You have to cut down DS2500 to fit and should run without shims and they will squeal and knock (nither of these bother me and they are worth the trade off for track use).
If you don't track the car then the Brembo OEM replacement pads and Brembo HC discs are more than enough for the road. If...
Hard to explain but its very easy, just take it all off carefully. I am pretty sure there is a good guide on it somewhere on here.
I did a load of research before I bought my set up.
I run Bimarco Futura Seats, Cobra Low Frames (Not X-Low which are no longer made and not the normal ones)...
Mine didin't, don't cut any wires. I then cable tied the occupancy sensor so it thinks I am always sat in it. It worked perfectly like that, but I didn't even try it without the cable tie so not sure its even needed tbh.
They now make a new low frame, I bought 2 the other day. Much better quality than the X-Lows but not quite as low, but still lower than anything else I could find on the market.
Only place I know of selling them is R-Tec. http://www.rtecshop.com/ Its a 3 - 6 week wait as made to order.
I...
Hey,
I have done the ePas conversion a while ago on my cup. I meant to change the bolts and have never got round to it so am still running the 172 bolts which really are a little too short, especially at the pinion side of the rack.
Now I am going to get around to it I have decided to use the...
I am not sure about the 197 / 200 rack but I know earlier on in the thread there was a lot of torque about the twingo RS track, which looks like a nicer cast aluminium part. However I think there were some alignment issues, and I am not sure if they were resolved. It will prob be in the first...
Not 100% sure, but for he standard rack they are 50nm I think. So I used that as a starting point. They were a fair bit lower than 50Nm. But the passenger side one is a b**ch to get a torque wrench to so I just did it FT.
I have resolved the noise issue on my car. Steering race to subframe bolts, the torque had relaxed slightly. Re-torqued and noise has gone. There was no noticeable movement but bolts were not tight enough.
Going to replace the and put some new nyloc nuts on as well. They are a bit of a pig to...
I am just going to give it all a once over and go from there. If I find anything I will report back.
I have a spare used rack sat in the shed to I can always drop that in if needed. Is it a case of fill with pas fluid and link the in and output from the PAS system to each other?
The noise on mine is defiantly coming from somewhere in or under the engine bay. After a very quick look it seems like it is coming from the rack. Not sure if it is rack mount or internal to the rack, or inner track rods.
I'm hoping to get under the car this week so if I find anything I will...
this is what I get, left lock I get a quiet on and then a loud one approx half a turn later, and one small right hand down. It's very loud with head under the bonnet. I will dig into it a bit and see what I can find.
yeah that is what I am getting. I will see if I can get it on a ramp...
So I was at Bedford Friday night and experienced and issue. I was getting a knock through the steering, it was inconsistent and only happened on changes of direction, when the front was loaded up. It has also done it a few times when parking!
its the first time I have run track tyres and camber...
Ahh fair enough.
With regards to the other clio's I agree, but I was just suggesting that an OEM car would not run 100x4 on a car with the power and torque a turbo'd clio will most likely run. Certainly with a 225 conversion.
Loose wheel nuts? Mine came loose and it was as you described. Sounds stupid but took me ages to work it out as I was miles from home with no tools.
It could be because of the extra torque you are applying on a more regular basis or increased braking torque. Most cars with the sort of power...
I went from RS to PS3's. The PS3's are better in all conditions. Much better. I didn't think RS were to bad until I swapped over. I won't run anything else on the road again. Did a very wet track evening on them as well. They were excellent and are wearing well, much better than the RS in...
