bit of a strange one this
Yesterday i was driving the car when it cut out, it then re started then cut out just round the corner. I checked to see if the pump was priming and it wasn't i checked the relays and the wiring all seemed fine, the RAC then turned up and between us we determined that...
are the under car fuel connectors the same on 1.2 and 172.(the ones under the drivers seat)
can a mod please change the title from furl to fuel, thanks
the other day the car started for a split second then died from lack of fuel.
i check all the fuses and i hadn't blown one and didn't a loose connection on the bay-car connector. but one of the relays was at first click its nuts off but then nothing.
so i checked if the pump was dead and it...
does any one know the what the max amperage that runs threw the connector under the fuse box. the one that connects the engine bay loom to the rest of the car.
ive got a weird noise coming from what seems the head on my 172 ph1 engine.
the noise only happens when its on it low idle(800ish rpm) not at the 1000rpm idle . its hard to describe what it sounds like but its almost like its missing but it not. this sound gradually goes till its warmed up...
ive had a search and can't seem to see a pic of a cup aux set up on a f4r lump.(out of bay)
has any one got a pic so i can see if it will fit in a mk1 bay.
also how is it tensioned? is like the mk1 with an adjustable tensioning pulley or like a standard 172 set up with a auto tensioner
it been back on the road now for a couple of weeks, it been fault less till couple hours ago when the 172 pas pump started playing up
and before anyone say i have a grill for it and a heatshield
i know the photo are a bit s**t but it was getting dark and its an old point and shoot
sometime the car will idle perfect but other times it will idle anywhere between 1.5k and 3k. if I blip the throttle most of the time it will come back down to its proper idle till I touch the throttle again
is this normally caused by the throttle body sticking or idle control valve.
is there usually another part added to the idle control valve so that it connects to a samco induction elbow.
the pipe on the samco seems to small to fit over the idle control valve as can be seen in the pic
am i missing something
on my f4r engine the thermostat is not opening when its the car is running, but i just tested it in boiling water and it will open.
does anyone know why it wont open when on the car but will when test off the car.
also i had bled the system so to make sure there are no air locks
just been installing my loom and it has a section that is broken. the bit that is broken kind of looks like a fuse but has no rating on it, it located on the battery terminal
can this be cut out and a spade connector put on or is a new on needed
is there another version of clio that has the same plug(engine loom side) as the one used on the 172's.
my loom has the pins but doesn't have the actual block, so i just want a block to put on my pins.
I'm changing my inner drivers CV boot.
i can't remove the the tripod on the shaft. i thought they were held on using clip but mine is isn't it seem to be wedges.
has any got a clue on how to get it off.
also are the boots Renault only because the one I got from the local factors and it...
i'm about to machine my inlets and just want to confirm that the amount to be removed is about right.
and what would be the best bit for a rotary tool(dremel) to do the work.
just been to eurocarparts to order the a new valeo clutch kit for my ph1 172 engine. when i gave them the reg the engine came from and asked for a valeo clutch. he then said the valeo clutch this one...
