Cheers for response, looks like gonna have to invest in torque wrench! Would I notice if the bearing is f**ked coz did drive it after and seemed ok?

Can the hub nut cause any problems if overtightened? I haven't got a torque wrench, so just tightened with a metal bar as much as it would go wil this be ok? someone told me this can damage wheel bearing? Cheers

is that the bracket bout half way down shaft? not undone these, assume i need to?! cheers for quick response

replacing my o/s driveshaft today, got to the point of removing old shaft, doesnt seem to wanna budge. Should it just pull out of gearbox?is there any clips/brackets holding in place that need loosening/removing? cheers

^Is this a difficult job? got hold of used replacement driveshaft, coming on thurs and was hoping to change it myself. If anyone could offer some instruction/advice on procedure would be much appreciated cheers

i've had an advisory on recent MOT that o/s/f inner cv joint bearings are broken :( does this mean a whole new driveshaft on that side? any ideas of cost to fix? cheers

cheers fred, i'l give it a go after work. i came to you for a service last saturday (black 172) can you remember front wheel was too far back in arch? Can't remember what you said would be bent? front arm?

would any kind of penetrating oil spray help at all?

yeah that sounds right. what could i use to get it out?

yeah disconnected cable from adjuster so its completely slack. should it just pull out of where it first meets caliper? its the cable surround part that seems to be seized where it slots in, not actual cable(this i have removed from caliper!)

Changing both handbrake cables on my 172, struggling to remove old cables from calipers. They are really seized in place. Am i just really weak?! or is there an easier technique to pull the cable from the caliper? cheers

since last post had plugs changed, 2 of the the old plugs were f**ked! car is pulling nice and smooth now all way to limiter:)

i've heard that that wiper motor/mechanism is suppose to attach to the metal stud on body? if anyone knows correct procedure for putting motor/mechanism back on the car would be great. I have put the 3 bolts back in but the whole thing seems to be out of position hence knocking/movement...

My 172FF is due 72k service and was wondering best place in leicestershire/midlands area that people know of? renault have quoted £401! sound alot? cheers
