Another noisy engine! with vid

i have read that 172 engines are tappy standard but worried that mine has a problem! oil level is fine but sounds like has none! any feedback as to what people think i.e normal or f**ked would be great! cheers

video makes the noise sound quite hollow, but could be VVT noise. You're not far from me, I'm based in bedford if you want me to take a look

yeh sorry for poor vid; had to use laptop camera! i actually have service booked next week with fred@btm although appreciate your kind offer, do you think its ok to drive? seems to be running fine (apart from exhaust blowing!).

Did you find out whether that was normal or had a problem? Mine is sounding quite similar and not sure if it's always been like that and I've just noticed it and am now picking up on it more or whether it is more noisy now.
