Re: ***How much is my car worth?***
2002 (02) Monaco blue, 69000, full service history up until I bought it (July 2010), bought it on 62000, had an oil and filter back in October, NSF wheel bearing changed. Reciept for cambelt and aux belt in Nov 07 so its due soon? Tonnes of receipts for it...
I bought the 2.99 ones off ebay and yeah they dont seem to be a snug fit hmmmm. Hasnt cured the squeaking and knocking either so i wouldnt recommend them. Wilk buy them off here from someone who knows what they are on about lol.
Also a quick question, i see these are meant to cure a knock which...
Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but thought I would anyway. Upon attempting to sort my non working headlight washers on my 172 I discovered that the pump unit that powers the front and rear washers is identical to the pump that feeds the headlights. I called up the motor factors and...
I changed my OSF wheel bearing at the beginning of december as it had play and was noisy. Whats annoying me is that Im still getting a humming noise every now and then from the same wheel, find it happens when going round right hand bends at low-ish speeds. At 70 on dual carriage ways I cant...
Wheel bearing was replaced in december so can't see it being that? Wheels seem solid to me, no movement or unusual noises. Not sure if its a noisy joint or something? Just seems weird how its more noticeable when going round a right hand bend.
UPDATE: After cleaning out the side skirt drains, I thought this may have sorted it. It didn't. The footwell was still getting damp and sun visor. So I gave up hope trying to find the source of the leak and decided to start parking the car facing up the hill. I was hoovering out the car today...
I know your all going to say wheel bearing straight away, but Ive replaced the wheel bearing, and still got a noise and can't seem to diagnose it. It makes an intermittent 'hum' when going around right hand bends at 20-30mph. Starting to annoy me now. Maybe a joint or something? A weight fell...
Its a phase 2 so aerial is at the back on this one :) so still not really sure. Going to pull the headlining back on saturday and have a good look, really cant have all this water coming in all the time else its going to start smelling and rotting :( my 1998 rover 216 was 100 times better built...
Right I have just checked my car as its been raining pretty much all day and yesterday......and its SOAKED yet again! The headlining is soaked by the sun visor and the visor itself is damp! Footwell is also wet. I Really cant think what is causing this. My dad keeps saying that maybe its coming...
Well I wazzed off the wheel today and the arch linings to reveal the end of the side skirt, and it was about 2inches deep of mud and crap, and I heard this is a drainage channel, so with it being deep in mud, maybe the rain was getting in there, flooding up and into the footwell in through the...
Thanks for the replies, I'll bear them all in mind when the time comes to have a proper look at it when Im back to work. I have actually adjusted the door catch to bring it tighter, and also siliconed the top door seal as it wasnt contacting the metal properly, but its still letting in the...
Its a phase 2, I always park on a hill facing down so maybe it is coming through the aerial and travelling down? I havent really got a clue its baffling! Just seems strange how the wet trail starts at the grab handle and ends at the visor, and visor is always wet. Where the windscreen pillar is...
Anybody have any more ideas on where the water may be coming from thats soaking my head lining? Beginning to really irritate me now :(
And I managed to clean out the drain in the scuttle panel on the drivers side, but the one on the passenger side is under the wiper motor is it? My hands arent...
I've searched the forums a few times to see if I can come up with a solution to stop rain water from coming inside my 172, but haven't really found much. When it rains quite heavily, water seems to come in from the roof somewhere, as there is a damp trail which starts at the passenger grab...
I would recommend them, good tyres for the money, mate has them on his 172 and grip very well in the dry and wet, much more grip than the pirelli p-zeros I have on mine.
Well I had all the space in the world there! lol.
And yeah its had the belts done, not due for another 2 years but I guess I better start putting a few pennies away for when the time comes haha. NSF wheel bearing is on its way out though, starting to sound a little iffy so will be pricing one...
Hey there, picked up my monaco blue 172 on friday after putting a deposit down on it last sunday, so it was a long old wait to pick it up lol. Been looking at Type R's and 206 GTi's mainly, but my mate has owned a 172 since december and have always liked it. So when this one popped up I thought...
