If you rev it higher and the noise stops and it sounds like it's coming from around that wheel arch - good chance it's the charcoal cannister. Do a search - you can disconnect it yourself to see if that's the problem costing you nothing.
Found out today this "IDIOT GARAGE Ashby Clio" made a total mess of my engine and the noise was coming from an incorrectly tensionned cambelt. This on top of an incorrectly adjusted aux belt with no aux kit and a non renault water pump. Steering pump is fine though.
Oh man, I've just been through this myself. Search on here - many threads and common problem. Not a mechanic but from my own searching -
Look into oil first off. If it's when idling and coming from around drivers wheel arch - look up charcoal cannister (minor). If engine sounds like a...
I've had a tapping rattling noise when idling coming from left of engine bay since belt service. Garage have stripped it and say that it's a bearing in the steering pump (hence nothing to do with belt service) but I've had a couple of other people look at it who aren't sure about this...
Dr Rollo have you used both sets without any problem? If you can see the offset on them that would really help me out.
I'm going on a European road trip in just over a week and I'm trying to get these on before i go. Cheers.
Yeah, now I'm confused with this too.
I spoke to Team Dynamics and they told me i should get et38 for my 182 even though et43 is available and closer to the standard 45 due to brake clearance!
I spoke directly to Team Dynamics today and they're saying my available offsets are 38 and 43 which is different to what it says on the website, possibly the website is out of date? Normally I'd have gone for standard clio182 45 offset if it was available, but if 43 isn't going to give me...
Hi
I'm buying some of these but i spoke to the supplier and they suggested using et38 offset on my 182 due to issues of brake clearance. There is also et43 which is closer to my normal offset of 45.
Anyone had these in 43 on a 182? and did you have any problem with brake clearance? Cheers.
Seems a little bit of disagreement over this....
Which are better for handling pro or sportlines?
I heard the rhyme pro for go, sport for show but seems not everyone agrees.
Yep - the engine management light comes on sometimes when i give it the beans. Not managed to get the warning code read as yet. I'm 90% sure it's the charcoal cannister, tomorrow i plan to open up the wheel arch to check that's where the noise is coming from.
Nudge nudge ahem...
If it's the solenoid that makes the noise on the charcoal canister, can this be replaced itself or adjusted? Don't think i want to remove the canister.
Yeah I know - this subjects been done a lot already, I just read most of it!
Seems like best shout is the charcoal canister or possibly lifters for mine. Some people seem to be saying charcoal canister sounds louder in the car than outside which isn't the case for me though but that wouldn't...
Hi - please help if you can this is doing my head in!
I have a tapping scuffing noise coming from the engine after the engine's warmed up fully. Pretty constant with slightly irregular timing. Unlike previous thread doesn't seem to follow revs.
Belts and water pump changed one month ago...
Was thinking an ITG one before but seems the JMS guys figured out that Pipercross works better. So i must decline your opportunistic offer! I wasn't even sure what the acoustic valve did myself TBH just seems people recommend removing it. Would it increase airflow or just change the sound you...
Hi
I'm trying to do a few things to get my 182 running nice ahead of a summer road trip. Thinking about putting in a Pipercross panel filter and removing the acoustic valve but will i really get any tangible improvement from this mod? Cheers.
Are Speedline Turinis much different from standard 182 alloys in terms of weight and quality?
Was comtemplating the change, but not sure if it's a clever use of my money.
Hi there
I'm looking at doing a few bits on my 182 cup but I'm kind of new to this. Basically I want to enhance the performance a bit without spending a fortune, messing up the fuel economy / reliability.
From checking the forums a bit my ideas are this: ITG panel filter, RS tuner remap and...
Hi people
Just bought myself a Clio 182 cup and joined up ahead of a European road trip. So far the cars pretty sweet, bit of a step up from my old 106 diesel and I love it. Only thing pissing me off is the London traffic.
