Without going into details, info security is my profession.
Your local Renault dealer has broken the law. As mentioned above this is in contravention of the data protection act. Its also unprofessional and arguably a potentially a security threat to yourself.
You should document what has...
Ive owned both from new and have been delighted with both.
IMHO.......
The 172 is a formidable piece of kit all things considered, it has a superb spec for the price and provides a less compromised vehicle for all purposes. I sorely miss the Xenons and Aircon :-( but.........
The cup on...
17s will slow you down. Im afriad you cant cheat physics, but in return you should have less body roll and more outright grip under the correct conditions.
Youll also find the car "camber chasing" more than before, if a full geometry check cant find anything out of alignment, spend some time...
Had mine for a couple of months, done 2550 miles.
I paid to have the engine oil replaced (with Mobil 1 fully S), renault replaced the gearbox oil FOC. Big improvment, particularly with the gearbox.
I too have had paint probs, but theyve sorted out the faults under warranty (a paint run on...
Well, yes - but they dont have shortened travel rods. Just how low is your car? Anything more than 30mm @ the front seems to cause problems, the drive shafts point upwards when static which isnt too clever!
I spoke to koni and they said 30mm drop was within their capability, but no more...
I can recommend the koni adjustables, used them for 6k miles with good results. Sensibly adjustable and well made, much absolutely certain the bump stops from the originals get transfered to the konis!
Enjoy :-)
Hi Si,
Ie tried everything (including the scoobysport obd2 "delete" box - which didnt help) and found that it can be done, but you need to control/force which state the ECU is running in (open or closed loop). Once you have hard set the ECU to a state, you can then re-map that area of ROM...

I bought the Group N OMP exhaust for my mk2 and.............
It didnt fit :-( Mounting point changed between mk1 and mk2. Build quality was second to none though (remember its only mild steel), in the end I sent it back as it was going to be too much mither to "adjust" to fit.
ALSO the...
Excellent tyres!!! I managed to pick them up @ £42 a corner for 195/40/16!!! (balanced and fitted them myself)
I used them on my mk2, superb in all conditions with good wear...
I also had them on my beemer (383bhp, 320lb/ft) and OK, they didnt last forever but the 6000 miles I got out of...

Could be your suspension bushes? Not all that easy to check, but you could start with a crow bar and lever the lower suspension arm against the chassis. Same goes for the anti-roll bar.
I replaced a set on a 12 month old mk2 172, even in 20k miles they had deteriorated enough that a new set...

Now wheres that M10 driver......
BTW, Ill take photos and put together a DIY Guide and post it to the forum (Unless black-cat already has photos?)
Evening!
Anyone experienced in the art of bumper removal? In particular the 172 mk2/cup?
Any help will be returned in the form of a photographic step-by-step DIY guide being submited to the forum for publishing.
Thanks,
Jelly.
I used to get 34-36mpg with my mk2 172 @ an average 85mph over a 211 mile run. The car spec was as follows:
Lowered f40/r35 with koni adj. all-round, Superhchip, Devil cat-back, OMP front & rear strut braces - rear didnt seem to do much!, Ecotec valve - I swear they work!, alternator...
My Cup is going in for some warranty work on the 15th of this month and at the same time Im having the Engine/Gearbox oil changed.
The gearbox oil change is being done under warranty (When I had my Mk2 172 and reported a less than perfect gear change they said the first thing they do is...
