My mk2 ph2 non-sport has oem xenon headlights, the driver's side one has got destroyed after someone hit into me. Can i just replace it with halogen ones as they are massively cheaper? Is the wiring pretty much the same or am i forced to replace with another xenon unit? Cheers in advance

Just a heads-up, tyreleader are doing the ns-2r in 195 50 15 for only £47.79. Cheapest i have seen them in a while and delivery is free.

My car is the 1.4 16v and the lambda sensor screws in just before the olive joint that attaches the centre section to the cat. It's definitely down from the cat, I was just intrigued as to where the sensor tom_k4j was on about.

I would say its the best value mod for the car. Completely changes the feel when turning in, the car feels flatter and i can corner faster due to barely any understeer. The car now seems to exhibit more of a four wheel slide or oversteer as opposed to the nose running wide.

Get some Yokohama Parada Spec 2s, much better than the t-1r in the dry and they have lasted me twice as long too. They aren't the greatest in the wet but their sidewalls are relatively stiff too.

In the haynes manual it says that the lower damper bolt on a mk2 phase 2 should be tightened to 105nm. Now i set my torque wrench to this and managed to snap the bolt. When i went to re-order the bolt from renault a mechanic said, no wonder it broke as that figure seems excessive as a road...

I used a torque wrench and as far as i was aware it didnt click, so i guess the bolt must have been faulty as i had set it to the recommended torque specified in the Haynes manual.

Tried using a set of grips but couldn't get any purchase. Thankfully an old pair of crap long nose pliers were just small enough to grip it on the other end. I'm so relieved as i really didn't want to have to drill it. Just hope my local Renault has a bolt available tomorrow morning. Cheers...
