I do prefer the xenons i just want it sorted without the bigger outlay really. I appreciate the offer but Essex is a bit out of the way mate, thanks all the same.

    Clio Headlights

My mk2 ph2 non-sport has oem xenon headlights, the driver's side one has got destroyed after someone hit into me. Can i just replace it with halogen ones as they are massively cheaper? Is the wiring pretty much the same or am i forced to replace with another xenon unit? Cheers in advance

    Toyo R1R's

Not sure if anyone is looking for a set of these but tyreleader.co.uk are doing 195/50/15 for £50.09 each with free delivery. Seemed pretty cheap, but no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong :D

    Lambda sensor

My car is the 1.4 16v and the lambda sensor screws in just before the olive joint that attaches the centre section to the cat. It's definitely down from the cat, I was just intrigued as to where the sensor tom_k4j was on about.

    Lambda sensor

Ok, can you link me to one? As my haynes manual only lists one post cat aswell.

white line RARB road car thoughts

I would say its the best value mod for the car. Completely changes the feel when turning in, the car feels flatter and i can corner faster due to barely any understeer. The car now seems to exhibit more of a four wheel slide or oversteer as opposed to the nose running wide.

    Lambda sensor

    Cheers, thanks for the advice.

    Lambda sensor

When looking for a replacement for my mk2 clio 1.4 16v eurocarparts states there are two types available - pre cat and post cat. My car has only a post cat sensor. Are the sensors identical? Main reason I'm asking is due to the fact that the ones listed as post cat appear to be 40% more...

    ***Tyre Poll***

Get some Yokohama Parada Spec 2s, much better than the t-1r in the dry and they have lasted me twice as long too. They aren't the greatest in the wet but their sidewalls are relatively stiff too.

    Seeing your old cars :(

I see in the crashed pics that the front strut brace and k and n induction kit is missing, undeclared mods? Lol.

    Coilpack question

Just noticed in daylight and the bolt has somehow sheared off, this is the first time I have touched any of the bolts so I'm guessing some mong must have over tightened it when the sparks were last replaced. Any ideas on how I'm going to get this out? Thanks in advance.

    Coilpack question

My 1.4 16v seems to have somehow lost the bolt holding down one of the coilpacks. Meaning the coil can be lifted out, last night was the first time I noticed it as when I looked under the bonnet it was sitting higher than the others. The car misfired while its in this up position but when I...

    Clio 1.2 16v vs 1.4 16v

Quite surprised by some of the responses, not sure how people claim not to notice the difference between a 1.2 n the 1.4. The 1.2 is 75bhp n the 1.4 circa 98bhp, if anything the difference between a 1.4 and a 1.6 should be a lot less noticeable as the bhp increase is approx 10% more, compared...

    Rear Speaker question

I fitted a set of components in the front and am happy with their sound and want to replace the rear with the same. However i dont want to have to mess about with siting the tweeters like i did in the front. Can i just fit the main woofer and not bother with the tweeter? Or will this damage the...

    Clio & Corsa

lol at this, the driver of the 172 would need to be turbo'ed to keep pace with a vxr in a straight line. This video proves sweet f.a aside from the fact that the driver can talk like a spastic and drive at the same time

    Insurance ?

Similar comment previously mentioned above, my bad.

    Project pearl black

lol i would be careful, insurers will do anything to wriggle out of making a payment. Should be alright though i guess if you dont stack it/some moron hits into you.

    Project pearl black

Have you checked quotes on your insurance yet? As i would've thought that after declaring the colour coding, rear bumper, sport grille etc it would be pretty high bearing in mind your age. I would reconsider getting an induction kit/spacers/coilovers or anything like that until your older - that...

SNAPED BOLT ON REAR SHOCK IN AXLE

    Camber questions

What's so bad about the b4s? Compared to oem?

    Camber questions

Bit of a novice when it come to this so generally just looking for some advice. Car in question is a mk2 1.4 16v. I intend to fit eibach sportlines in the near future, and possibly b4 dampers to replace the originals that have been on the car since it was made. Now are camber bolts needed for...

    Torque settings

In the haynes manual it says that the lower damper bolt on a mk2 phase 2 should be tightened to 105nm. Now i set my torque wrench to this and managed to snap the bolt. When i went to re-order the bolt from renault a mechanic said, no wonder it broke as that figure seems excessive as a road...

    URGENT help needed

I used a torque wrench and as far as i was aware it didnt click, so i guess the bolt must have been faulty as i had set it to the recommended torque specified in the Haynes manual.

    URGENT help needed

Tried using a set of grips but couldn't get any purchase. Thankfully an old pair of crap long nose pliers were just small enough to grip it on the other end. I'm so relieved as i really didn't want to have to drill it. Just hope my local Renault has a bolt available tomorrow morning. Cheers...

    URGENT help needed

Just finished replacing my rear dampers, had taken the car off the axle stands and was tightening up the lower bolts. Now i had heard these can come loose so they need tightening like a b******! So away i go, after finishing the first one i start on the second and all of a sudden the wrench...

    Weitec coilover kits...

Just wondered what people's thoughts were on these, as i havent heard of many people using them on clios. On other cars they seem quite highly rated and i just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them.

    Exhaust clamp help

It's annoying cos the other clamps are in pretty good shape considering the age of the car, around london what's a decent labour rate? Also how long do u reckkon it will take if he has to grind this off and fit the new system?
