Is there anything else I could check? why would the revs be sitting so low?
I've checked them all changed the coil, all appear fine? No air leaks either.. doesn't do it all the time, only after starting, and intermittent during.
Hi, been having a few idle problems with my clio 182, Very low idle speed and when driving feels like its running out of fuel when accelerating?
Pre-cat lamba appears to be ok (recently changed) and have checked all injectors which appear fine. Any ideas?
Just been underneath and unplugged the pre cat lambda.. This appears to have stabilised the idle but im sure its not the source of the problem as both mine are brand new.. Any ideas people?
Just cleaned the throttle body to make sure there are no air leaks.. the car now starts, idles at around 1K for about 1 minute before the revs very very slowly drop until the engine cuts out? :S

Hi, Thanks.. just checked and unpluging them one by one makes a difference on all four. When i start the car the revs sit at 1K then after about 30 seconds fall to around 0.4?

Changed both Lambdas for new bosch ones.. cleared codes. etc
Checked CAT
New MAP sensor
New Injectors
New TDC sensor
New Coolent sensor
New air sensor
New plugs
New ign Pack
New leads...

To be honest you need to find the source of the noise and smoke.. I had a simular problem before which turned out to be the air con pump pulley starting to seize up and burning the Aux belt... good luck!
Mine did the same..... It will soon seize and start burning the belt!!
Get a new or good used Air Con pump... You can pick them up for around £50. Its not an easy job to change and you will need to get it re gassed etc. I would also suggest changing the tensioner and pulleys at the same time.

Tried that with no luck several times using a number of different Lambdas....Even does it with lambda not plugged in! Just hope i didn't 'blow' my new lambdas when testing before the wiring was sorted.........

Im sure i put all the wires together correctly..... tomorrow I will recheck all the wiring and try a differnt lambda just in case!...driving me crazy now!

Yes, cut all four wires at both ends and replaced with new separate from the loom... Still no change!!! Did notice that the lambda reading stays the same at idle and with revs??
Thanks, just checked the loom with volt meter and all appears fine, even bypassed the connector plug on the lambda.... Stills shows up on diagnostics as 'lambda 1 open circuit/short circuit....

After checking everything twice i found a fault with the TDC sensor....
Looks like it was giving an intermitent fault once hot. Quick change for a new one and the fault was gone.
Squeeling was down to me be being a numpty, air leak in manifold in between changing plugs!
