Good evening Mr White, remember Im just in the "interest" stage! Im well into the idea of getting a 172. Insurance on a pass plus will be cheaper than what Im paying now for me 1.4, crazy innit! About 1100 notes, williams nah, sounds tempting but Id rather a 172!
Cheers for everyones help and...
Mate it is rated 0 - 60 mph in 9.3 that aint slow. Fair play to you, you got a nice car there. I am trying damned hardest to get a 172, 1.4 just doesnt cut it any more!
yeecup,
that car is one of the ones Im looking at, Lloyds TSB right? Me mum works there. I dreamt about driving a 172 last nite, I think its becoming an obsession!
AH...doh.
Stop it, this is worse than what my g/f does in bed, I cant refuse!! Why black, funny enough Ive found a black one at 26,000 miles though there is another one Im more interested in.
As the subject says I am hoping to get just over £7000 and I want a newish 2 - 3 year old car. My first thought was a Clio 172 Phase 1. Is it this best car for the money or should be looking at something else. I love the look of the clio and love its performance but wold I be making a mistake...
Thanks lads... wasnt sure. Ive got the same shape in a 1.4 so wanted the new shape. Cant afford the new shape though so that made me feel better.
I need a freakin membership, wouldnt let me post! :@
badinvincible yours is a beauty, love that colour coding. Again ova my budget, I think I might save a little more. By that time both of these will have gone.
Thanks for the info btw.
Smokey,
f**k me, absolute mint car mate. Little over my budget and I like to do my own mods. Youll soon sell that. So no real differences apart from looks?

Get trading standards in mate!
You reckon Ive got a case?

BTW what do you think of the ramcharger, any good and how much?
Cant tell a huge difference in speed but it sounds fantastic. People think my car is a 1.8 or 2.0 litre.
Wierd. I feel it was unfair though as I was specifically after the 16v version.
Russ16v I was told it had 1 cam from my local garage which started this whole fiasco. I told them it 16v and they said it wasnt.
The car is a V Reg so its 2000.
Thanks saner, good shot. Thanks to everyone else.
I was sold this car as a Mrk 2 Phase 1 Renault Clio 1.4 16v Alize. It is registered at DVLA as a 16v when it is starting to seem like it is not.
Any insights?
Hi,
For all you clio freaks that knows loads about engine sizes, heres one for you. Is this 1.4 engine 16v or 8v?

So many options!
NickyB,
Gotta realise your talking to a complete smack head when it comes to engines!
Electrics, Try your dizzy car and rotor arm!
Whats that?
I guess when you say "back to basics" it might not be a big problem?
Is there a way I can change the fuel mixture myself? And is it a case of just replacing the spark plugs when you say weak or no spark?
Thanks mate!
Hi,
Please give me good news.
I started my engine today after a night of no use and when I start the engine everything is fine. I drive down my road slowly still no problems. I then pull out of my road onto a main road, put my foot down and I hear "clang" "clang", car just wont accelerate...
