Did Renault make a ’W’ 1.4 8v

A kiddie i know has a Mk2 Phase 1 Clio. It says alize on the side and hes always said it was a 1.4 16v and that they didnt make a 8v alize.
He popped the bonnet the other day and it looks like an 8v to me with the smallest head in the world. He then took it to the garage and they said its and 8v too but he wont have it!

Did they make em?

i think they did. my mate had a s 1.4 8v where the si was 16v

Most of the time yeah but the airbox covers half of it!

Im pretty sure its an 8v.

Most Alize were 16v but theres a few 8v models

There were 3 Mk2 Ph1 1.4 16vs Some were Alize, some Etoile and all Sis are 16v, they all use the same engine which looks like this:

Yip they did, mine is! A 1.4S 8v

yes they did. they have an airfilter box on top of the engine and the bit around the filler cap is grey.

my brothers mates got one of them too,also in silver,
when he rang up for quotes no company would have it that it wernt a 16v !!
