Shame mate :( So you've fell out of love with it already? I was seriously considering a Meg 225 as a slightly larger replacement for my 182, but have decided on a small estate now.
I agree mate, if I was looking to spend £4k on a 182, I'd certainly want to try pushing my budget to a Trophy, but everyone has a budget to stick to I guess - and a £4k Trophy would no doubt need some money spent on it.
Don't know about RB, but I know where there's a nice BG 182 FF for £3k ;)
RB is a lovely colour though. Prices for 182's seem to be all over the place at the moment, some low miles 182's up as high as £4.5-5k, and some that look reasonable for as little as £2k.
Welcome to the CS Scott :)
I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage, history & condition is far more important. I looked at a low mileage 172 before I bought my 182 (higher mileage) and it felt nowhere near as nice to drive. In fact recently I took out an '04 Impreza that had only done...
Re: ***How much is my car worth?***
BG 182 FF 2004 (04) - standard
87k
Good history, book stamped up to 70k, receipts for belts and servicing since
Belts up to date and not need doing for a good while
Tax until Dec 2012
MOT until Jan 2013
In very good condition all round.
I valued it at...
£3200 isn't crazy over the odds for a tidy (assuming it's a tidy one?) 182 though is it? I've seen a number of 182's for sale for around the £4k mark lately (albeit lowish miles), although no doubt they are not selling.
Jenic - out of interest, what is it you prefer about your old 182 over...
Hahahaha, 'massive' miles if you are driving cars from the 70's. I think you'll find motor engineering has moved on a little since then.
My last 850R was on 150k and near mint, my 850 T5 previous to that was on 225k and still flying through MOT's. Our 330ci has just passed 105k - should I be...
90k in 7 years is 'mega' miles? Really? I thought average mileage was around 12k a year now, so it's not exactly mega is it?
Considering the start price is £2350, it doesn't look too badly priced to me. Unless the Cups sell for a lot less than the FF's?
Sadly, time has come for me to sell my BG 182. If I could keep it, I would, but I often find myself needing something bigger again :(

Not to worry though, a friend & I will soon be sorting out a track car, and a ph1 172 is in the running if one...
Thanks Nick, it's something I'm mulling over - really need to get out and have a few test drives to see how 'special' they feel once driving one.
I know what you're saying about buying a 'loved' one with a higher budget, but from what I've seen there are still a few good examples going for...
Very nice Nick, I'm not totally sold on the colour, I think it would suit something like an E28 better, but I imagine it still looks great in the metal.
I'm actually having a bit of a moral dilemma at the moment, and considering an E36 M3 as a long term car, to cover a few wants/needs, and...
Yeah, I'm confident the aircon side of it is working OK, as I said, it blows cold fine if you set it to minimum. It's more the control that seems wrong which is why I suspected the temp sensor.
Fair play if it's the external one above, does anyone know if the interior one follows the same...
Hmm, just found this post: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?111578-Temperature-sensor-details
that shows that as temp decreases the resistance increases, which is opposite to what a K type tc, say, would normally do iirc, so maybe it's some other type of sensor.
Is the external...
Since I've had the 182 I've always noticed that the climate control was a little on the warm side, and with a bit of playing around it seemed to be suffering from the sticking servo motor problem for the hot/cold diverter.
But yesterday I had a 5 hour drive, stuck in traffic, etc so had some...
Forotten about this, but need to sort it!!
Other than OEM CTR or C2 stubby aerials, can anyone link to an aftermarket one that they have bought on ebay or wherever that actually works?
Cheers :)
I thought someone on this thread said they were £9 + vat + delivery?
Just checked, sorry, £15.60 for one can. Or £49.20 for 4 cans. From what I've read, if you want to be able to remove it easilly you need to give more coats to get a thicker film.
As I say, horses for courses, but for me...
Well these are what £16.50 delivered per can? That's twice the cost of aerosol paint.
Fair enough you may factor in priming, but unless the wheels are damaged (and even then you can get away with spot priming) then a scuff up with a scoth pad will be fine for basecoat. Plus most of the...
Tbh, unless you really want to be able to remove this stuff, I don't see the benefit over just using normal paint. I know people are saying it's more forgiving to paint with, but it's the same process.
At least decent paint will be durable. If you decide to use rattle cans, then that will...
Cheers - I know they have almost definitely blown, as they don't work at all at night, but I was just wondering if the backligt is on all the time with ignition, or just with headlamps?
Should the radio display/clock LCD be backlit all the time, or just with headlights?
Mine is dim in the day and unreadable at night. The LCD is working though, but just want to know if the LCD is dimmer than it should be and the backlight is blown, or it's just the backlight and LCD is fine.
Looks really nice that mate, just the right height imo. Nearly bought a flamer myself, was a minter, shame the seller was a tool and sold it before our agreed viewing. Do you get decent radio signal with that aerial?
Probably because they were more interested in chassis/suspension design...
Ok thanks everyone.
Could someone link to one that they have actually purchased? If I ebay C2 or CTR aerial you still end up with a load of generic stubby aerials with thread adaptors to suit many cars. So wouldn't really know if one fits well or actually works!! Cheers :)
