Does anyone know where I can get an autochanger cable for my mates clio - other than a main dealer. Hes got the same renault head unit and renault (alpine) changer as my mk1 172. Or does anyone have one for sale out there?

Got mine done for free at my local dealer as a fix is available for it. Also got my gearbox oil changed at the same time - which again is an upgrade - new properties/viscosity apparently.

Brilliant cars with huge smile factor. Slight rattle now and then and the airbag light occasionally comes on, but thats about it. Oh and every 1.2 Corsa, 1.1 Saxo, XR2, Escort, Punto Sporting Etc Etc wants to have a go - it does get tiring.

A little tip - go and have a quick word with the mechanics at your local renault dealer and ask if any do any fiddle work or after work servicing. The worst they can say is no. I got a quote for a 36k service on my mk1 172 sport from my local dealer and it was £300 + parts on top. A mechanic...

Just had mine scraped in the works car park - and non of my so called work-MATES came forward. Two deep scratches down to the plastic on the rear bumper. £100 to sand back and repaint. Really p*ssed off as its mint apart from that. I know how your feeling!!!

MK1 every time for me. Ive got one and have only ever seen 2 or 3 on the road around Newcastle - the MK11s are ten a penny. It may take a while to find one though, I looked for mine for about 4 months.

25, full no claims (protected) MK1 172 Fully comp with Direct Line £630. Live in a nice area but have the same post code as a not so nice one too. Dont modify as I enquired about putting on a filter and different wheels and the price went through the roof.

Does anyone know of a service manual for a mk1 clio 172? The hanes manual does not cover it. Im trying to find a fix or info on creaking steering and creaking suspension. Thought it may be dry or cracked bushes but not sure.
