So a few weeks ago I took the car back to Clioturbo as there was an occasional significant power cut when over 4,00RPM, plus I wanted the belts and dephaser changing earlier than recommended. As it's running 0.6 bar of boost I am paranoid of the increased strain on the engine and belts than it...
Cars coming on great Paul, glad you have stuck to subtle mods!
Turbo'ing these make them really fruity but just be aware you will encounter problems! So far I've ripped the diff out of my gearbox and had various ignition components fail. They are an absolute blast though and very quick, even...
I barely noticed a difference between stock mounts and the Vibratechnics.... But as I asked Andy to fit these as part of the conversion I was probably too busy trying to control the increased torque steer to notice any extra vibration that these gave off.
If you can get to Scoff get him to update your Adaptronic firmware mate! Mine is so much smoother since he updated mine and tweaked the map.... Really impressed! Said he couldn't get rid of a judder at 1,200rpm but I think this is due to a loose engine mount. The car is so much more well behaved...
Mine's on the Adaptronic coil pack mate. Apparently they don't like heat and since they are situated above the turbo it means the heat gets to them which is why mine keeps failing! Converting the Adaptronic to run the Renault coilpack is about £150 if I remember correctly.
Snap!
Been doing research into DCCD and Subaru's. As my mate said earlier in the pub though, "nothing is going to compare to a 1 ton tin throwing you along with 230BHP
/210 torque, even a Scooby"
In all honesty George I'm probably on my 3rd coil pack so far, I guess I just always wrongly assume it's that when it starts missing! The plugs could be an issue as it starts on what feels like 2 cylinders when frosty/icy but changing between Renault leads and leads from EFI doesn't seem to make...
The 90 degree bend to my throttle body keeps coming loose at the bottom causing a boost leak which is getting a bit annoying! It's had 4 coil packs so far so as soon as it was missing/popping/banging the other day I started to change the coil pack only to find I've kept the one thats duff and...
My ham-fisted hands broke the plastic adjuster in my driver's side light and after reading comments on here I just opted for a new light unit.. with discount it was £230 with no bulbs, ballast etc from my local stealer. It took them 3 attempts to get me one that was intact too! The first two...
Still struggling with the car unfortunately!
Had some issues with misfiring over 4,000RPM since the weathers got warmer which I attribute to the coil pack/leads as it pops and bangs as it misses! I've found that putting the climate control on 1 bar blowing at the windscreen seems to reduce the...
Ended up taking the car to EFI a few weeks ago and Andy had a tinker with it and Chris spent time updating the Adaptronic firmware and tweaking the map. The car drove fantastic, I was utterly overjoyed.... For 3 hours!
It started throwing the electronic warning light and limiting revs if I...
I've got the DEH-8400BT and it's a great bit of kit! Bought it for the same reason as you mention - because it has so many colours so can be changed the match the Clio clocks.
The only niggle for me is finding a particular contact through the phonebook can be tedious, but on the whole I'm...
I might venture down, car isn't running spot on at the moment though. What we thinking...

I think the general consensus of not going big power but instead spending the money on handling mods are bang on the money. A FF Clio weighs in at less than 1100kgs and my clioturbo low boost 182 goes like the clappers running 227BHP. Power to weight is similar to a stock Focus RS. You can go...
I was on Squires Gate waiting at the lights to cross Common Edge Road onto Progress Way.
I do occasionally but I'm quite careful as there has always been a lot of mobile speed camera activity in the past down there (usually parked right by the fixed camera). Cheers for the heads up though, I'll...
I have seen another black 182 besides Paul's about so it might be this...
Spotted you today too @turke on Common Edge Road, you were crossing Squires Gate Lane/Progress Way heading towards Asda.
Still struggling!
CTS issue seems to be sorted now as I haven't had a hectic temp needle for weeks but still getting misfiring/hesitation as its coming on boost/cam (between 3-4k rpm). I put the OEM leads back on, a brand spanking new coil pack was fitted today, the only thing I couldn't do was...
Maybe mate, I don't think they were aware and my priority at the time was keeping a relatively quick car well within the limits of the law! I just told them to do whatever they had to to change the tyre as it was the most worn of the 4.
Yep, it's getting right on my nerves at the moment, it...
Unfortunately, problems are back.
Temp gauge is fluctuating badly again however once its been through a few warm up cycles it seems to play nice. Got a thermostat and 5L of Type D that's going in on Monday after I flush the system, and I'm gonna cable tie the boost pipe that's pushing against...
Hope you get it sorted soon buddy!
You've probably seen on Facebook I've had a few issues with my car misfiring on boost or feeling like its hitting a limiter at 4,000RPM and after a new CTS and coil pack it seemed fine.... Until trying to get full boost the other day with TCS left on and it...
Love it mate, Flame red is a lovely colour!
Regarding boost - as Andy Greer says "If it doesn't blow, it sucks!" ;)
You'll have plenty o' fun winding that snail up, trust me!
I can do the 6th but can't play out late as I'm up REALLY early the following day.
@EvoFq3o0 will you be joining us?
Sounding like we'll have a fair few Clio's turning up @Kevin172 , I hope you have space for us all!
Le boost is back!
Had to dig deep to replace the CTS:
Still had a gentle misfire so I now now the motor factor coil packs just don't work properly. Replaced this with one I ordered from EFI and I've got uninterrupted boost and lovely pops from the exhaust again!
