    New versus old. Continued.

Some people confuse desirability and rarity, with being better. Older, rare cars, can be desirable, my step-dad has a very rare and collectable Ford Capri RS 3.1, which many people think is a great car, but when you actually analyse it, a 2004 equivalent would paste its arse from here into the...

Does anyone know how I can lose 32 bhp off my Clio 182 please? You see, Jesus tells me it will be a better car with 18% less power.;)

    New versus old. Continued.

The Jesus will be telling us that 1960s passenger planes were faster and better than the latest stuff, next. That 1960s trains were faster and better than The Eurostar. That old motorcycles are faster and better than 2004 ones.

I want a pint of whetever The Jesus is on. I have driven a Williams quite a bit, a friend has one, he has three cars you might call classic and whilst all of them are in great condition and were once king of their class, they are no longer so and he realises it. He has a Williams, a Rover...

Brilliant and this should shut up the ones who dream on about their old bangers once and for all. Superb, mate! :D

    New versus old. Continued.

The traction the Scoobies and Evos get with their 4wd is vast and they offer huge power now, with the flagships offering over 300 bhp. But I agree, the Clio is far better looking, has better presence, as someone described it earlier and is rarer and far more unique. The 2 Japs look like...

Nowt queer as folk, they say!! Then again somewhere, I guess, someone, will prefer a 1973 Porsche Turbo to a 2003 one. 200bhp versus 400 bhp. 150 mph versus 190 mph. Average handling versus incredible handling. Basic versus fully equipped. But it is obvious which car is...

    New versus old. Continued.

I have kept out of this debate, since pretty much the start. OF COURSE, cars get better with time. OK, they get heavier and more luxurious in some cases and, after so many years of performance gains, improvements will be marginal from now on, with the petrol engine in its present form, but...

    Annoying cd system on 182

Not having a timer on the cd player is a pain. No read-out/display at all, unless I have not set it up or something.

    182 alarm

Why does my 182 sometimes bleep 3 times when I lock it after parking, yet other times it simply locks the doors without any noise?

£2000 off list at most Renault dealers. I would not believe too many who say they get the things virtually given away mate.

182 - the good and the bad

Good; nearly everything, especially performance, looks, handling, brakes, extremely high level of equipment. Bad; noisy when used like is intended to be used, hard.

    Engine noise 182

The 182 IS noisy mechanically, especially when revved hard, but for the price and with its superb spec., I for one dont mind. I dont even find the much-criticised driving position a problem, once adjusted to suit me. It is a hot, hot hatch. They are noisy!

    Engine noise 182

Slightly daft comparison. My 182 is noisier than my BMW too!

    182 teething problems

It is not mentioned in my manual. It probably is the glow plug light on diesel models and means nothing on a 182 perhaps?

*Poll* who would get stripes for the 182

Those stripes are expensive, tacky, crap which peel off very quickly. Mine is in black gold. Beautiful and with the special paint treatment that was thrown in with the car it shines up beautifully with just a wash and dry.

    182’s days may be numbered!

360 miles to the last tankful, although it was very low when I re-fueled. First filling station I found was closed.
