We have put a 172 engine on an engine stand for a project we are doing at work, there is something in the side of the engine with a knurled end, can't seem to remove it, it has threads on it but won't screw in. Any ideas what it is:

Hi just been having a search about on here as I have a speedo issue. I'm thinking its the speed sensor in the box. It works fine when cold. On longer journeys it intermittently stops working. Anyone had this before?
